In short: Bright Sight is Cam and Beth, a photo and video duo based near Cardiff. This page is about weddings at The Barn at Brynich in Brecon, Powys, Wales, where we photographed a wedding in October 2021. Standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography or £3,799 for both, with travel included and a £120 deposit to secure your date.
A listed barn at the edge of Brecon
The Barn at Brynich is at Brynich, Brecon, Powys (LD3 7SH). The venue's own site says the land has been in the Jones family since 1966, when it was the family farm, and the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park listing calls it a Grade II listed wedding and events venue on the edge of Brecon. The venue says it is licensed for civil marriages and civil partnerships and that a wedding has exclusive use of the venue and its lawns on the day.
We photographed Meg and Luc's wedding here on 16 October 2021, and their day is the one in this guide: a ceremony beside a floral arch, confetti at the barn doors, portraits along a hedge and against a whitewashed wall, and a last few pictures among the hay bales with their dachshund. Our Powys guide and Valleys and Brecon Beacons guide look at the wider area, and here we stay with the barn. What we say about the buildings comes from the venue's own website and the national park, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

The Barn, the Grain Shed, the courtyard and the pergola
The venue says the Barn is Grade II listed, with original oak beams, an open fireplace and a flagstone floor with underfloor heating, and that it is licensed for marriages. Its second room, the Grain Shed, is described as a recently renovated barn with a more modern, industrial feel. When the Grain Shed is hired, the venue says only one room is open at a time, and both rooms have a licensed bar.
For ceremonies the venue's ceremony page says a couple can choose a registrar-led civil ceremony, a celebrant-led ceremony or one led by a friend or family member, indoors or out, and that it can seat up to 120 for the service. Outdoors it names an oak-framed pergola in the garden, which it says has no solid roof but gives dappled shade, and the front courtyard outside the Barn, at an additional charge. The same page notes that celebrant-led ceremonies in Wales are not legally binding at present, so a legal marriage still needs the local registrar.
The venue's weddings page gives a maximum of 80 guests for a wedding breakfast in the Barn and 100 in the evening, rising to 120 for the day and 150 for the evening with the Grain Shed, though its reception page words the room figures differently in two places. It also says catering comes from its list of partner caterers and that its four self-catering cottages sleep 22 (23 with the sofa bed) on a three-night stay. Ask the venue to confirm each figure for your own date.
02 / October 2021 / Meg and Luc
Meg and Luc: a floral arch, confetti at the barn and a dachshund in the portraits
Meg and Luc married on 16 October 2021. The photograph at the top of this page shows them walking out hand in hand past the timber and stone doorway, both laughing, as coloured petals fall around them and their guests watch from behind.
Indoors, the room has dark timber, a balcony above and an arch of twigs, white roses and red flowers behind the couple. Meg and Luc turn to smile at each other while a guest beside them applauds.

At a wooden table they sign the register, Meg leaning over it in her veil and Luc beside her in his check suit, a sprig of eucalyptus along the wood and tall timber windows behind them. Luc is smiling at the page.

Outside, the sky was cloudy. The two of them walk hand in hand along a mown path beside a tall hedge and dry grasses, looking at each other.

Against a whitewashed stone wall with a small black door behind them, they stop for a kiss, Meg's veil falling long behind her. Later they sit together on a low stone ledge in front of tall wooden LOVE letters, a stone barn at their backs and a fire pit on the gravel in front.

In a quieter moment Meg wears a white fur wrap over her gown and Luc kisses her on the cheek. Then they sit side by side on the stone floor against a tall stack of hay bales, holding hands and smiling at the camera.

The last portrait has someone small in it. Luc holds a dachshund in a checked coat under one arm while Meg stands beside him with her bouquet, in front of a dark hedge.

Planning your photographs at The Barn at Brynich
Some questions for the venue, and how we would build the day around the answers:
- Ceremony: Meg and Luc's floral arch and register signing were indoors. Ask which room suits your numbers, and what the extra charge covers if you want the pergola or the courtyard.
- Wet weather: The pergola has no solid roof, so ask the venue for its wet-weather plan before you choose it, and which indoor space it would use instead.
- Confetti and sparklers: Petals gave us the liveliest frame of the day. The venue says sparklers are allowed for up to 20 people and fireworks are not, so check its confetti rule too before you buy.
- Autumn light: In mid October the sky moved between cloud and bright sun, and a hedge and a whitewashed wall gave us plain backdrops. We look up sunset for your date and agree the portrait plan with you in advance.
- Group photographs: We typically suggest around 15 groups, which usually take about 20 minutes. Pick a spot with room, and ask a friend who knows both families to gather people quickly.
- Portraits: Our portrait walk normally lasts about 15 minutes, with photo and video working together. The venue says well-behaved dogs are welcome except during food service, so tell us if yours is joining you, as Meg and Luc's did.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed more than 400 weddings together, and a listed barn in the hills suits that experience. You make one set of decisions about the day, we keep one timeline, and the portrait walk is planned once for both of us.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
Questions about a The Barn at Brynich wedding
Do you photograph and film weddings at The Barn at Brynich?
Yes. We photographed a wedding at The Barn at Brynich in October 2021. Send us your date and we will tell you whether we are free. Travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages.
Where is The Barn at Brynich?
At Brynich, on the east side of Brecon in Powys (LD3 7SH), inside the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The venue's contact page places it by the Brynich roundabout, where the A40 and A470 meet, and names Abergavenny as the nearest railway station.
Where can the ceremony be held?
The venue says you can marry in the Barn, under its oak-framed pergola in the garden or in the front courtyard, with the outdoor options at an extra charge. It also names civil, celebrant-led and friend-led ceremonies. Meg and Luc's register signing was indoors. Ask which option suits your numbers and your date.
How many guests can The Barn at Brynich hold?
The venue says it can seat up to 120 for a ceremony, with a maximum of 80 for a wedding breakfast in the Barn and 100 in the evening, or 120 and 150 if the Grain Shed is hired. Its pages are not consistent on every room, so ask for the figures in writing.
Can we stay on site?
The venue says four self-catering cottages sleep up to 22, or 23 with the sofa bed, on a three-night stay, and that one cottage, the Woolpack, is fully accessible. Ask which cottage you can use for getting ready and from what time.
Who does the catering?
The venue says catering comes from its list of partner caterers, and that it may agree to a caterer outside the list after a meeting. Both rooms have a licensed bar. Ask which caterers are available for your date.
What happens if it rains?
The pergola has no solid roof, so ask the venue which indoor option it recommends. We plan a sheltered backup for group photographs and portraits with you and the venue before the day, and settle it on the morning.
Can we book photography and videography together?
Yes. Our photo and video team package puts both under one booking with a £120 deposit, and it carries a £400 saving compared with booking them separately. See the package pages for current coverage and prices.
How much does a The Barn at Brynich wedding photographer and videographer cost?
Our standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography and £3,799 for photography and videography together. Brecon is about an hour from where we are based near Cardiff, and travel is already included in our standard full-day packages, so the barn adds nothing to the price. Longer packages add more coverage and extras, and the package pages show the current inclusions.
