PORTSMOUTH & SOUTH COAST WEDDING GUIDE & REAL WEDDINGS
Wedding Photographer and Videographer Near Portsmouth and the South Coast
A stone tower on Old Portsmouth's seafront, a church and creek in the New Forest, a Hampshire hotel with fireworks and a barn in the South Downs near Chichester. Natural photographs and wedding films from the south coast, with every venue labelled by its real county.

In short: Bright Sight is Cam and Beth, a photo and video duo based near Cardiff. This guide follows five real weddings along the south coast: the Square Tower in Old Portsmouth, Beaulieu Abbey and the Beaulieu Hotel in the New Forest and Old Thorns near Liphook in Hampshire, with Farbridge near Chichester in West Sussex as a labelled neighbour. Standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography or £3,799 for both, with travel included and a £120 deposit to secure your date.
Weddings along the south coast, from Portsmouth to the New Forest and Chichester
A south coast wedding can mean very different things: a ceremony in a stone tower on the seafront, a church beside a creek with moored boats, a hotel on the heath or a barn in the South Downs. A couple searching for Portsmouth is usually choosing between a city on the sea and the countryside either side of it, and a guest list that comes from London and the Midlands.
We have photographed and filmed five weddings along this coast, from 2021 to 2025. A bride and groom walking through confetti outside the Square Tower, a long veil streaming in the wind beside an estuary, a groom in naval uniform on open heath and a firework over a hotel lawn are among them, because the best photographs of a day are often the ones that nobody planned.
We work quietly around the day. You stay with your guests, we step in only when a little direction helps, and the photographs and film grow out of what really happens. Our Hampshire, Southampton and Sussex guides cover the wider area, and this guide stays with the coast.
01 / Old Portsmouth, Hampshire / Claire & James
The Square Tower: a drawbridge, confetti outside the stone walls and a veil on the seafront
The Square Tower is on Broad Street in Old Portsmouth, and the venue describes itself as one of the oldest wedding venues on the south coast. Claire and James married here on 15 August 2025, and the portrait at the top of this guide is Claire resting her head against James’s shoulder with her eyes closed and the sea behind them.

On a wooden bridge beneath a stone archway the two face each other, Claire in a lace gown with her veil trailing and James in navy, and after the ceremony they walk hand in hand through a shower of confetti between lines of cheering guests outside the stone building. They walk across a sunlit lawn in front of a stone fort wall, and the wind lifts her veil as they look at each other on the seafront with rocks and the sea behind them.
Inside, a groom bends to kiss an older relative on the cheek in a stone-walled room with brick arches, warm light falling across them, and the reception room is laid with round tables and chandeliers beneath tall arched windows with white blossom trees. A ceremony in a historic tower is short, so ask the venue how long you have, and plan the portraits for the walk to the seafront straight afterwards.

02 / Beaulieu, New Forest, Hampshire / Chloe & Matt
Beaulieu Abbey: a walk to the church, a creek at dusk and a veil in the wind
Chloe and Matt married at Beaulieu Abbey in the New Forest on 9 August 2024, with their ceremony in the church. The first photograph is Chloe walking arm in arm towards the church with her bridesmaids behind her.

After the ceremony their guests throw confetti in the churchyard, and on a wide lawn in front of a red-brick country house with tall chimneys Matt dips Chloe into a kiss. In the evening they kiss close together beside a creek in warm light, her hand clasped in his, with moored boats softly blurred behind them, and on a grassy bank beside the estuary her long white veil streams out in the wind.
A day like this has two settings, the old village and the water, and the walk between them is part of the story. Ask where guests will wait while you have portraits, and if your date is in summer, keep the best of the evening light for the creek.

03 / Liphook, Hampshire / Stuart & Laura
Old Thorns: a hedge, a wall of white roses and fireworks to end the day
Old Thorns Hotel & Resort is on Longmoor Road at Griggs Green, near Liphook, and the venue describes the tranquil Hampshire countryside, a golf course and a spa. Stuart and Laura married here on 18 June 2022. The first photograph is Laura kissing Stuart in front of a clipped hedge, her veil lifted and a bouquet in her hand.

The two stand face to face holding hands in front of a brick wall covered in white roses, and beside a timber shelter they kiss as smoke drifts around them. In black and white, Stuart in a waistcoat and Laura in her veil kiss with their arms around each other.
The day ends in the dark: Stuart and Laura, seen from behind with their arms around each other, watch fireworks burst in the sky. If you would like a finale like this, ask the venue what it allows and where guests should stand, and tell us the timing.

For current venue details, explore Old Thorns.
04 / West Dean, near Chichester, West Sussex / Laura & Ricky
Farbridge: a stone barn, two grandmothers and golden grass in the South Downs
Farbridge is at West Dean, near Chichester, and so is a labelled neighbour in this guide, in West Sussex, not Hampshire. The venue says it sits in the South Downs National Park in a restored old dairy and is yours alone for the day. Laura and Ricky married here on 26 July 2025, and their first photograph is Ricky in a navy suit and sage bow tie walking in with Laura as guests clap in the stone-walled barn.

Laura bends to talk with two older women seated at a table inside the barn, and in the evening the two walk across fields in warm light, Laura in a fitted dress with a bouquet and Ricky in a waistcoat. Ricky lifts Laura in a hug in tall golden grass with her veil over them both and a stone farmhouse behind, and at a wooden gate they kiss as the low sun breaks through leaves above them.
A barn in the Downs is at its best in the last hour of the day, so ask the venue how far the fields are from the party and plan for the walk back in the dusk.

For current venue details, explore Farbridge.
05 / Beaulieu Road, New Forest, Hampshire / Charlotte & Myles
Beaulieu Hotel: a groom in naval uniform on the open heath
The Beaulieu Hotel is on Beaulieu Road in the New Forest, beside the heath, and Charlotte and Myles married here on 12 November 2021. This is an older wedding, so we show only three photographs: the two of them looking at each other on open heathland, he in naval uniform with a blue-trimmed collar, and the ceremony kiss in a pale room with a chandelier, and the two of them forehead to forehead outside in the dark with the lit windows of the hotel glowing behind them.

Planning a wedding on the south coast
A ceremony in a historic tower or church
The Square Tower in Old Portsmouth and the church at Beaulieu are both historic buildings with their own rules about space, timings and confetti. Ask your venue what they allow, how long the ceremony slot is and how guests will arrive, because that sets the order of the day.
Sea, wind and veils
The photographs at Portsmouth and in the New Forest include a veil lifted by the wind beside the sea and a long veil streaming along an estuary bank. Wind on a coast can be strong, so choose a veil and hairstyle that will cope, and keep a plan for an indoor portrait if the weather turns.
Hotels, heaths and fireworks
Old Thorns near Liphook and the Beaulieu Hotel on the heath both gave their couples plenty of room, and Old Thorns ended with fireworks. Ask each venue what it allows after dark and who is responsible, and tell us the timing so we are in the right place.
Barns and the South Downs
Farbridge near Chichester is a restored dairy in the South Downs National Park, and Laura and Ricky’s day was full of golden grass and evening light. A barn in the countryside needs a plan for the walk back at dusk, so ask the venue about paths and lighting.
Getting guests there
Guests will arrive from London, the Midlands and across Hampshire. Share a short transport note with directions, parking and taxi numbers, and ask your venue whether guests can stay on site or nearby.
How we travel to you
The south coast is more than two hours from our base near Cardiff, so we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it. That means traffic on the morning cannot affect your day, and travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full-day packages.
Before you enquire: write down every address your day will use, from where you get ready to where guests sleep, and any ceremony options you are still choosing between. Send it with your date and venue and we can talk through the order of the day.
For the wider area, see our Hampshire, Southampton and Sussex guides, and for the neighbouring areas our Dorset and Surrey guides.
Hearing the day again: wedding films on the south coast
A photograph keeps a face. A film keeps the voice that goes with it: vows in a tower, a laugh on the seafront, the sound of confetti on a long lawn. We film the way we photograph, from the edge of your day and without asking you to repeat anything for the camera.
A highlight follows your day in the order it happened, so watching it feels like the day again rather than a trailer for it.
Our full-day video packages include a 7 to 10 minute highlight and a 40+ minute documentary film. Explore the wedding videography package for current inclusions, or browse our wedding films for more celebrations.
One team for the photographs and the film along the coast

Booking photography and film with the same team means one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for your venue and one plan for the couple portraits. Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together since 2016, so a ceremony in a tower, a church by a creek and a barn in the Downs are familiar ground.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages, so a venue in Portsmouth and one in the New Forest are priced the same way. If your day uses more than one location or has an unusual timetable, tell us the plan and we will confirm how it fits.
Questions about photography and film on the south coast
Do you photograph and film weddings in Portsmouth and along the south coast?
Yes. Cam and Beth are based near Cardiff and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. We have photographed and filmed weddings at the Square Tower in Portsmouth, at Beaulieu in the New Forest, at Old Thorns near Liphook and at Farbridge near Chichester. Send your date and venue and we will tell you whether we are free.
Which real weddings can we see in this guide?
Claire and James at the Square Tower in August 2025, Chloe and Matt at Beaulieu Abbey in August 2024, Stuart and Laura at Old Thorns in June 2022, Laura and Ricky at Farbridge in July 2025 and Charlotte and Myles at the Beaulieu Hotel in November 2021. Farbridge is in West Sussex and is labelled that way.
How is this different from your Hampshire and Sussex guides?
Those guides cover the whole of each county. This guide is about the coast around Portsmouth, with a closer look at five venues from the seafront to the New Forest and the South Downs.
Do you travel to Hampshire for weddings?
Yes. Travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full-day packages. The south coast is more than two hours from home, so we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
Can you photograph a ceremony in a historic building?
Yes. Tell us the ceremony space you are choosing, how long the slot is and what the venue allows for confetti, and we will plan the photographs and film around it.
What if it is windy by the sea?
Choose a veil and hairstyle that will cope, agree an indoor alternative with your venue and build a little slack into the timings. Wind is part of a coastal wedding, and some of the best photographs in this guide came from it.
How much does a Portsmouth or south coast wedding photographer and videographer cost?
Our standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography and £3,799 for photography and videography together. Travel across England and Wales is included, so a wedding in Portsmouth and one in the New Forest are priced in the same way. Larger packages extend the coverage and add extras, and the package pages show what is included today.
Can we book photography and videography as one team?
Yes. Our photo and video team package puts both under one booking with a £120 deposit, and it carries a £400 saving compared with booking them separately. Check the package page for current prices and coverage.
