Your wedding, with time to enjoy it

If you are looking for a Cheshire wedding photographer and videographer, seeing real weddings is a good place to begin. A venue photograph can show you the building. A wedding story shows you how it feels when your friends are cheering, someone is laughing through a speech and you finally have a moment alone together.

We are Cam and Beth, the photo and video duo behind Bright Sight. Our approach is relaxed and documentary: we follow the day as it happens, help gently when you need us and keep portraits short enough that you can get back to the celebration. You can book photography, videography or both together.

This guide brings together our own weddings across Cheshire, from Chester to Knutsford and the countryside around Congleton and Macclesfield. Some photographs date from earlier weddings, so use them for inspiration and confirm current spaces directly with each venue.

Chester, beside the River Dee / Chloe & John

Old Palace Chester: a city wedding with room to wander

Old Palace Chester brings a country house feeling into the city. The Georgian manor overlooks The Groves and the River Dee, with a River Room for ceremonies, a Ballroom for celebrations and a garden terrace for time outside. It suits couples who love historic interiors but also want Chester to feel part of their day.

Chloe and John's city celebration

Chloe and John’s photographs tell that story through a walk together, their dog joining them on the path and a sparkler celebration beside Chester’s suspension bridge after dark. These are moments from their wedding at Old Palace Chester, with the bridge portraits taken out in the city. A little space in the timetable can make room for the people, pets and places that matter to you.

A little help with your plans: If you would like portraits away from the venue, agree a short route with us and your coordinator. Allow time to get there and back, check access on the day, and confirm the venue entrance with your drivers before the morning begins.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Old Palace Chester's official website.

Astbury, near Congleton / Georgia & Marcus · Lauren & Jon · Martha & Harry

Alcumlow Wedding Barn: outdoor vows and a lively barn dance floor

Alcumlow has two quite different ceremony settings: the warm interior of the barn and the outdoor White House. The courtyard and grounds give the celebration space to spread out before everyone comes back together for the evening. It is a lovely starting point if you want a countryside wedding that feels informal without losing a sense of occasion.

Three celebrations, one countryside setting

Georgia and Marcus’s ceremony photograph shows the barn lights glowing above their first kiss. Lauren and Jon’s collection moves from preparations to an outdoor aisle, a cheering wedding party and the dance floor. Martha and Harry’s photographs bring together the White House, bridesmaids in blue and a first dance beneath the lights. Across three weddings, you can see how the same venue becomes a very personal celebration.

A short walk into the fields

The maize field portraits give Lauren and Jon, and Martha and Harry, a different setting for a few quiet minutes together. Fields change with the season, so we plan portraits around what is available for your date. The aim is always a short, enjoyable break together before you return to your guests.

A little help with your plans: Choose your preferred ceremony setting with the venue and agree the indoor alternative too. Ask which parts of the grounds will be accessible on your date before building field portraits into the timetable.

Over Peover, near Knutsford / Hannah & Rob

Colshaw Hall: country house elegance, with the laughter left in

Colshaw Hall sits in Over Peover, close to Knutsford. Its Stables ceremony room and Peel Suite give each part of the day its own setting, while the Walled Garden and Japanese Garden offer outdoor options for drinks and portraits. For photography, the appeal is having several different backdrops without making the day revolve around travelling between them.

Hannah and Rob's country house wedding

Hannah and Rob’s photographs balance the architecture with the people. There are glasses raised during preparations, Hannah’s dress beside a tall window, an exuberant confetti exit and the two of them close together in the window light. The house gives those moments a beautiful frame, but the smiles and embraces are what make the photographs theirs.

A little help with your plans: Keep a short group photograph list and nominate someone who knows the guests to help gather each group. We can then leave more of your reception free for conversation and take your couple portraits in a separate, brief pause.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Colshaw Hall's official website.

Prestbury, near Macclesfield / Anfal & Elfateh · Leanne & Terry

Hilltop Country House: garden paths and a moment to yourselves

Hilltop Country House in Prestbury combines house interiors, a marquee and landscaped gardens. For a couple who would like natural portraits close to the celebration, those paths and steps offer a simple way to change the backdrop without heading off on a long excursion.

Two weddings, with time in the gardens

Anfal and Elfateh’s photographs follow them through the garden, down the stone steps and beneath the trees. Leanne and Terry’s portrait looks up towards the pergola from the garden below. Both collections show how a short walk can give you room to breathe and photographs that feel connected to the place you chose.

A little help with your plans: Bring shoes you can comfortably walk in for garden portraits, particularly after rain. We will choose an accessible route and keep an indoor option ready so that the photographs fit your comfort and the weather.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Hilltop Country House's official website.

Duddon, near Tarporley / Rebecca & Sam

Duddon Mill Farm: a countryside celebration from the first toast to the last dance

Duddon Mill Farm is a farm wedding setting near Tarporley, with tipi and marquee celebrations at the heart of its offering. If you picture open space, a relaxed reception and an evening surrounded by your favourite people, Rebecca and Sam’s photographs are a wonderful place to start.

Rebecca and Sam's countryside celebration

Their collection includes bridesmaids raising their glasses outside the marquee, a quiet portrait beneath a willow tree and Sam being lifted by his groomsmen. Later, warm lights frame their first dance and the busy dance floor. The evening portrait on the path adds another mood, while still feeling like part of the same day.

A little help with your plans: For a tipi or marquee wedding, talk through the route between each part of the day, ground conditions and an indoor plan for photographs. Keep a little flexibility around your evening meal if you would like a short portrait walk when the light is right.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Duddon Mill Farm's official website.

Pott Shrigley, near Macclesfield / Amy & James

Shrigley Hall: autumn portraits and a grand house backdrop

Shrigley Hall sits at the edge of the Peak District, near Macclesfield. The country house frontage makes a striking setting, while the grounds offer a softer contrast for portraits. The hotel has several wedding spaces, so ask which rooms and outdoor areas form part of your own booking when you visit.

Amy and James's autumn wedding

Amy and James’s October wedding photographs bring together autumn leaves, smiles at a window, laughter in the grounds and a portrait on the balcony above the entrance. Their confetti photograph was taken outside a church after the ceremony, rather than at the hall. It is a useful reminder to plan the whole journey when your ceremony and reception are in different places.

A little help with your plans: For an autumn wedding, check sunset against your ceremony time. If you are marrying at a church, allow for congratulations and the journey to the reception before choosing a portrait slot in the remaining daylight.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa's official website.

Six more Cheshire venues, through real wedding moments

There is more than one way to make a Cheshire wedding feel like you. These celebrations take us from Mobberley and Knutsford to the countryside around Chester and the Shropshire border.

Mobberley, near Knutsford / Rebecca & Jack

Owen House Wedding Barn: laughter in the morning, warmth in the evening

Owen House is a family farm wedding venue in Mobberley. Alongside the barn and ceremony room, it offers preparation spaces and a covered Shooting Gallery for photographs. Rebecca and Jack’s selected moments keep the story wonderfully simple: a laugh during the morning preparations, then their first dance beneath the barn lights. It is the kind of connection we look for throughout the day, as well as during the big milestones.

A little help with your plans: Ask which preparation rooms and covered photograph spaces are included in your booking. Having those details settled makes it easier to plan both partners’ mornings and a wet weather alternative.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Owen House Wedding Barn's official website.

Knutsford / Melissa & Oliver

Larkspur Lodge: the hugs, speeches and first dance

Larkspur Lodge brings a barn setting close to Knutsford, with separate spaces for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, plus a snug and garden terrace. Melissa and Oliver’s collection follows the people as much as the setting: a smile while Melissa’s hair is styled, a hug before the ceremony, Oliver giving his speech and their first dance under the lights. Their garden portrait offers a quieter moment alongside those shared celebrations.

From preparations to speeches

A little help with your plans: Tell us who is speaking and when the speeches will happen, including any surprises you would like us to know about privately. It helps us capture both the person speaking and the reactions around the room.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Larkspur Lodge's official website.

Hulme Walfield, near Congleton / Andy & Paula

Sandhole Oak Barn: a little time beside the lake

Andy and Paula together beside the lake at Sandhole Oak Barn
Andy and Paula together beside the lake.

The lake is a distinctive part of Sandhole Oak Barn, near Congleton. Andy and Paula’s photographs use it in two different ways: a quiet moment beside the reeds, and the open lakeside space for the twirl at the start of this guide. You do not need a long portrait session to have photographs that make the setting part of your story. Their wedding was in April 2022; the venue has since announced changes for 2026, so confirm the current spaces and layout when planning your day.

A little help with your plans: For lakeside portraits, agree a comfortable route with the venue and leave the choice of exact spot flexible. Wind and weather can change how the water feels on the day.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Sandhole Oak Barn's official website.

Ledsham, near Chester and South Wirral / Gabi & Mikey

Inglewood Manor: doorways, garden walks and a green Mini

Inglewood Manor is in Ledsham, within Cheshire West and Chester, close to South Wirral. Its Edwardian architecture, terrace and garden walkways give portraits a strong sense of place. Gabi and Mikey’s photographs include Mikey with his groomsmen and a green Mini, the couple in a glass panelled doorway and a walk beneath the brick columns. The mix of colour and black and white keeps both the character of the venue and the feeling between them.

Room for the details that matter

A little help with your plans: If a car or another personal detail matters to you, tell us during planning. We can make a little room for it without turning the reception into a long photograph list.

Countryside south of Chester / Emma & James

Carden Park: gazebo vows and a walk through the grounds

Carden Park offers indoor wedding spaces and an outdoor gazebo in the countryside south of Chester. Emma and James’s April 2022 collection shows their kiss beneath the gazebo, a portrait on a small brick bridge and a walk through the grounds. These photographs are a useful starting point when discussing which outdoor areas you would like to use, alongside the practicalities of the spaces booked for your own wedding.

Choosing a comfortable portrait route

A little help with your plans: On a large estate, choose one or two portrait locations with your coordinator rather than trying to visit every backdrop. A realistic route keeps you close to the celebration.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Carden Park Hotel's official website.

Near Nantwich and Whitchurch, on the Cheshire and Shropshire border / Nikita & Nathan

Combermere Abbey: a Cheshire wedding on the Shropshire border

Nikita and Nathan kissing on the steps outside the abbey

Combermere belongs in a Cheshire shortlist even though its position near Whitchurch also makes it a natural part of our Shropshire coverage. The Glasshouse, Walled Gardens and Pavilion give the wedding different settings across the estate. Nikita and Nathan’s October 2025 portraits show the abbey itself, with the steps, clipped hedges and soft autumn light framing their time together. Their wedding predates the new Pavilion announced for 2026, so confirm the current reception layout directly with the venue.

A little help with your plans: Use the venue’s full address for travel planning rather than relying on the county name. If guests are staying in the courtyard cottages, check arrival and preparation arrangements alongside your ceremony time.

For current spaces, availability and booking details, visit Combermere Abbey's official website.

Looking just beyond Cheshire?

If your search crosses the county boundary, we have photographed weddings in neighbouring areas too. These venues sit outside Cheshire, but they are useful alternatives when you are comparing settings across the wider region.

  • North Staffordshire: Jenny and Conan’s wedding at Foxtail Barns in Consall, and Jolene and Kelvin’s wedding at The Ashes Barns in Endon, give us experience of two barn venues beyond the Congleton side of Cheshire.
  • Shropshire: explore our Shropshire wedding photography and film guide for more real celebrations. Combermere is included in both guides because of its position on the border.
  • North Wales: we have captured Emma and Andy, and Lauren and Liam, at Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen. This is a separate North Wales setting for couples whose venue search extends beyond Chester.

Tell us where each part of your wedding will take place, even if it spans two counties. Travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full day packages, and we will plan the coverage around the actual journeys.

Planning your Cheshire wedding photographs and film

  1. Start with the full route. Share both preparation addresses, the ceremony location and reception venue. Allow for guests leaving the ceremony as well as the drive itself, particularly if you are moving from a church to a country estate.
  2. Keep portraits close to the celebration. Choose a short walk together and a manageable family group list. If the light is lovely later, a second brief pause can give you a different set of photographs.
  3. Agree an indoor alternative. Barns, house windows and covered spaces can all work beautifully, but access depends on your booking. Discuss the options with the venue before the wedding.
  4. Plan around the season. October daylight and summer evenings need different timetables. We will look at your ceremony time, sunset and meal arrangements together.
  5. Leave room for what makes the day yours. A dog joining portraits, a special car or a surprise speech is easier to capture when we know about it beforehand. Share the details you care about most.

Our wedding photography timeline guide gives you a starting timetable, and the photo and video planning checklist helps gather the details before we talk.

One photo and video duo, sharing the same plan

Cam and Beth, the Bright Sight wedding photography and film duo
Cam and Beth, the creative duo behind Bright Sight.

Booking us together means photography and film follow one shared timetable. We coordinate preparations, group photographs and your portrait walk, so you have one conversation about what matters to you and how you want the day to feel.

We look for the small things as well as the big moments: the hand squeeze before a ceremony, the people listening to a speech and the friends still dancing at the end of the evening. Photographs and film each bring something different to that story.

Our combined package saves £300 compared with booking our full day photo and video packages separately. A £120 deposit secures your date once we have confirmed availability.

Your Cheshire wedding film: the words as well as the photographs

A photograph can bring back the look on someone’s face. Film also brings back the vows, the delivery of a speech and the sound of everyone laughing together. Those voices are a lovely reason to include videography in your plans.

Our full day film package includes a 7 to 10 minute cinematic highlight and a 40+ minute documentary film including your full ceremony and speeches. Explore the wedding film portfolio to see our approach, or read how highlight and documentary films differ.

The things couples ask us

Frequently asked Cheshire wedding questions

Do you photograph and film weddings across Cheshire?

Yes. Cam and Beth cover Cheshire, including Chester, Knutsford, Congleton, Prestbury, Macclesfield and the surrounding countryside. This guide features photographs from 15 weddings we have captured at 12 venues. Send your venue and date so we can check availability for photography, film or both.

Is travel to Cheshire included?

Travel throughout England and Wales is included in our standard full day packages. We plan the journey and our arrival before the wedding. If preparations, ceremony and reception are in different locations, we will work through the timings with you.

Can you cover both partners getting ready?

As a photo and video duo, Cam and Beth can often split to cover separate preparation locations. We agree the plan with you first, taking account of the journeys and ceremony time so that coverage remains practical.

What if we feel nervous about photographs?

You do not need to know how to pose. We spend much of the day photographing what happens naturally, with gentle guidance for family groups and couple portraits. A short walk together gives you a pause in the day without keeping you away from your guests for a long session.

What happens if it rains at our Cheshire wedding?

We plan an indoor or sheltered alternative with your venue before the day. Depending on the conditions, we can use a doorway, window light or a brief dry spell outside. Your comfort and time with your guests guide the plan.

Can you also cover weddings near Cheshire?

Yes. Our archive includes Foxtail Barns and The Ashes Barns in Staffordshire, Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen in North Wales, and venues across Shropshire. These are separate areas close to Cheshire, and England and Wales travel is included in our standard full day packages.

What films are included with videography?

Our full day videography package includes a 7 to 10 minute cinematic highlight film and a 40+ minute documentary film including your full ceremony and speeches. The package page explains the current inclusions and coverage options.

How do we book our Cheshire wedding date?

Send your date, venue and preferred coverage through the package enquiry form. Cam or Beth will reply personally within 24 to 48 hours. Once availability is confirmed and you choose to book, a £120 deposit secures your date. The remaining balance is due one month before the wedding.
