LOCAL WEDDING GUIDE & REAL WEDDINGS
Birmingham Wedding Photographer and Videographer
City celebrations, garden portraits and country house weekends. A Birmingham guide with real weddings from the surrounding area, photographed by Cam & Beth.

A Birmingham wedding that feels like you
You might be picturing a ceremony in the city, dinner beneath old brickwork in Digbeth, or a garden celebration near Sutton Coldfield. Birmingham gives you different ways to bring everyone together. The best choice is the one that makes room for your kind of day: the people you want beside you, the atmosphere you love and enough time to enjoy both.
We are Cam and Beth, the photo and video duo behind Bright Sight. Across more than 400 weddings together, we have learned that the most meaningful photographs often happen between the things on the timetable. A friend straightening your dress, a parent catching your eye, everyone laughing at the same story. We follow those moments, with gentle guidance for portraits and a calm plan for the photographs you want to arrange.
This guide combines Birmingham venue ideas and practical city planning advice with photographs from our own weddings around Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding counties. Every story is labelled by its actual location. The opening photograph is Natalie and Tom at Elmbridge Farm in Worcestershire, one of the countryside options we explore below.
Start with the day you want
City ceremony or countryside celebration?
A city wedding can have a lovely sense of movement: getting ready at a hotel, arriving for the ceremony, stepping outside together and joining your guests somewhere full of character. A house or barn on the outskirts brings a different rhythm, with everyone settling into one setting. Neither needs to become a complicated production. Start with how you would like the day to feel, then choose the spaces and journeys that support it.
Give the journeys their own time
If your preparations, ceremony and reception are separate, the transfer involves more than a drive across Birmingham. There are bags to gather, hotel lifts, guests waiting for transport and somewhere to park at the other end. Tell us the exact locations while we plan. We can decide where family photographs fit best and leave a comfortable buffer before the meal, rather than squeezing everything into the journey.
A portrait walk you can actually enjoy
For a city celebration, ask your venue which nearby spaces work for a brief walk and where photographs are welcome. You may love a courtyard, a quiet doorway or the texture of the surrounding streets. We choose a manageable route around the conditions on the day. You do not need to cross the city for a photograph, or leave your guests waiting while we chase a particular backdrop.
A useful question at your venue visit: “If it rains, where can we gather our family comfortably and have ten quiet minutes together?” Look at that space with the same care as the gardens. It makes the plan reassuring in any season.
For guests arriving by train, check their station, final transfer and accommodation against the actual venue address. A Birmingham postal connection does not mean every country venue is in the city centre. Clear directions, a pickup point and a realistic return plan can be a greater kindness than an extra detail on the tables.
Wishaw, North Warwickshire, near Sutton Coldfield / Emily & James
Moxhull Hall: gardens, good company and a proper celebration
Emily and James's wedding at Moxhull Hall has that lovely balance of elegance and personality. There is the dress hanging beneath a garden arch, James pausing by the window, and Emily laughing with her bridesmaids in their morning robes. These are different parts of the same story, with the people giving each photograph its character.

Your morning, with your favourite people
You do not need to make preparations into another scheduled photo session. Leave a little space before you need to get dressed, keep the people you want close, and let the morning happen. We notice the conversations and small gestures while you settle into it.
If you are both getting ready on site, we work out where each of us needs to be. If one partner is elsewhere, the same care goes into the journey and meeting point. A shared plan lets us give both mornings attention.

The garden portraits bring the house into the photographs without losing Emily and James in the scenery. A kiss by the steps sits alongside a much more playful lift on the lawn. There is room for both. We can offer a little direction, then give you space to talk, laugh and find your own way of being together.

Keep the whole story
The cake cutting and dance floor have their own energy. These photographs belong beside the quieter garden moments, because your wedding is also a celebration with everyone who has come to share it.

Moxhull Hall is in Wishaw, North Warwickshire, near Sutton Coldfield. For a Birmingham-based venue search, it offers a country house setting to compare with the city options. On your visit, look at how guests would move between the ceremony, drinks and evening spaces, and ask about the indoor plan as well as the gardens.
For current spaces and booking details, visit Moxhull Hall's official website.
Beyond Birmingham
Three surrounding-area weddings to help you compare
If your search extends towards Worcestershire or Wolverhampton, these weddings show a different side of the day. They are countryside comparisons with their own locations, useful for deciding whether you want everyone based in the city or gathered at a venue outside it.
Near Droitwich, Worcestershire / Natalie & Tom
Elmbridge Farm: a lakeside pause and a confetti welcome
Natalie and Tom's wedding at Elmbridge Farm gives the countryside a very different feel from a city reception. Their confetti photograph is full of guests and movement. By the lake, the pace changes, with the two of them on the footbridge and their reflection below. Both moments matter, and neither needs to take over the afternoon.

The farm's lakeside tipis are worth exploring if you like an outdoor setting with a relaxed gathering at its heart. Ask how the ceremony and meal plans work in different weather, and where guests can settle while you take a short walk. The portrait at the top of this guide comes from the same wedding, with Natalie and Tom walking beside the meadow.

Near Kidderminster, Worcestershire / Liz & Jack
Hogarths Stone Manor: a little time in the gardens

Liz and Jack's portraits at Stone Manor keep the attention on them. One is a close embrace in the gardens; another lets the taller grasses soften the setting around them. A country hotel can give you this change of scene while the main celebration stays close by.
Think about what you would enjoy doing for those few minutes. A short walk and a chance to catch your breath can feel more natural than standing through a list of poses. We choose the light and background, offer a little help, and leave room for the expressions that are yours.
For current spaces and booking details, visit Hogarths Stone Manor's official website.
Codsall Wood, South Staffordshire / Farha & Alex
Pendrell Hall: a country house with your people at its heart

Farha and Alex's November wedding offers another house setting near Wolverhampton. The morning photograph is about company as much as the room: Farha sharing a smile with someone beside her, with daylight through the windows.
For an autumn or winter celebration, agree where the important outdoor photographs fit around the ceremony. You can enjoy the warmth of the house afterwards without wondering whether you have missed the light.

The guest you would never leave out
Their dog makes a very welcome appearance too. If including a pet matters to you, tell us while we plan and check arrangements with your venue. Someone familiar to look after them makes that little moment easier, and lets you get back to the celebration.
For current spaces and booking details, visit Pendrell Hall's official website.
A few further comparisons
More wedding stories from the wider area
These shorter features sit further along a Midlands venue search. They show a little of our photography at other celebrations, with each location kept separate from Birmingham itself.
Rugby, Warwickshire / Charlotte & Tom
Draycote Hotel: confetti and a moment together
Charlotte and Tom's wedding at Draycote Hotel is a wider Warwickshire comparison. Their photographs show two simple parts of the day: being surrounded by guests beneath a shower of confetti, then a quiet kiss in the garden.

When you visit a hotel venue, ask where guests would gather after the ceremony and how that space works alongside your family photographs.

For current spaces and booking details, visit Draycote Hotel's official website.
Near Evesham, Cotswolds edge / Emma & Jason
Dumbleton Hall: a further country house comparison

Emma and Jason's 2022 wedding photographs bring together a close portrait beneath the trees and a wider view of the house across the lawn. Dumbleton Hall is a further option near Evesham, on the edge of the Cotswolds, rather than a Birmingham venue. If your plans extend this far, look at guest accommodation and the whole weekend as well as the setting. Check today's spaces directly with the venue.

For current spaces and booking details, visit Dumbleton Hall's official website.
Warwickshire / Sarah-Jane & James
A Warwickshire celebration: the little moments between
These two photographs from Sarah-Jane and James's wedding show why we give the quieter moments room. A kiss beside the wedding breakfast table and a portrait framed by brickwork tell different parts of the celebration. Whatever setting you choose, there is time for photographs that feel close and personal alongside the bigger gatherings.

Wolverhampton, West Midlands / Linda & Alex
Park Hall Hotel & Spa: a garden setting in Wolverhampton
Linda and Alex's photographs offer a final glimpse of our work at Park Hall: a walk across the lawn and a kiss beside the garden pagoda. For a venue search around Wolverhampton, ask how the gardens and indoor spaces fit together, and keep the portrait route close enough to leave plenty of time with your guests.

Eight venues for a Birmingham and nearby shortlist
Council House, Highbury Hall and Fazeley Studios are Birmingham options to research with their teams. Shustoke Barn is a nearby Warwickshire comparison. The final four entries connect to our wedding photographs above. Check current spaces, ceremony arrangements and availability directly with each venue.
- Birmingham Council House (Birmingham city centre): Victorian interiors in the heart of the city. Ask about your chosen ceremony and reception rooms, access and where guests would gather afterwards.
- Highbury Hall (Birmingham): A Victorian mansion with landscaped grounds. Worth exploring if you want a house and garden setting within Birmingham.
- Fazeley Studios (Digbeth, Birmingham): A former chapel and factory setting with bright interiors and courtyards, for couples drawn to Digbeth’s creative character.
- Shustoke Barn (Shustoke, near Coleshill, Warwickshire): A red-brick barn with timber beams and a courtyard. A nearby countryside option east of the city, with its own distinct setting.
- Moxhull Hall (Wishaw, North Warwickshire, near Sutton Coldfield): Country house and garden celebrations near Sutton Coldfield, illustrated by Emily and James’s wedding.
- Elmbridge Farm (Near Droitwich, Worcestershire): Lakeside tipis and open grounds for a countryside celebration, shown through Natalie and Tom’s wedding.
- Hogarths Stone Manor (Stone, near Kidderminster, Worcestershire): A country hotel with gardens, lawns and room for a short portrait stroll, seen here with Liz and Jack.
- Pendrell Hall (Codsall Wood, South Staffordshire): A country house near Wolverhampton, with a glimpse of Farha and Alex’s November wedding.
One photo and video duo, sharing the same plan

One booking for photography and film means one conversation about your priorities. We share the same timetable, plan the portrait walk together and know where each of us needs to be during the ceremony and speeches. You can settle into the day while we follow its different parts quietly.
After more than 400 weddings side by side, that familiarity is part of how we work. We recognise when a moment is about to happen and move around each other naturally. Your photographs and cinematic film share warm, natural tones, so the finished collection feels like one connected memory of the day.
Our combined Photo and Video Team package saves £300 compared with booking the full day photography and video packages separately. A £120 deposit secures your date once availability is confirmed.
Your Birmingham wedding film: the voices as well as the photographs
A photograph can hold an expression. Film lets you hear the voice behind it: the way a parent begins a speech, the laughter that follows, or a pause during your vows. We give those sounds space alongside the movement and atmosphere, so you can return to the feeling of being there together.
Our full day videography package includes a 7 to 10 minute cinematic highlight film and a 40+ minute documentary film including your full ceremony and speeches. Browse the wedding film portfolio to see our approach, or read how highlight and documentary films differ.
The things couples ask us
Frequently asked Birmingham wedding questions
Do you photograph and film weddings in Birmingham?
Yes. We cover Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull and the surrounding Midlands. We are Cam and Beth, a photo and video duo based near Cardiff, travelling throughout England and Wales. Tell us your ceremony, preparation and reception locations so we can plan the day around your actual arrangements.
Are all the weddings pictured here in Birmingham?
The photographs are from our real weddings in the surrounding area. Moxhull Hall is in Wishaw near Sutton Coldfield, Elmbridge Farm and Stone Manor are in Worcestershire, Pendrell Hall is in South Staffordshire, and Park Hall is in Wolverhampton. Draycote and Dumbleton are wider-area comparisons. The city venue directory offers additional Birmingham ideas to research separately.
We are camera shy. Will we have to spend ages posing?
Most of the day is documentary coverage, so you can enjoy the people around you. For portraits, a relaxed 15 to 20 minute stroll is usually enough, with gentle guidance when you need it. We organise family photographs clearly and keep the list manageable, leaving more of the drinks reception for you and your guests.
Can you cover both of us getting ready at different hotels?
Often, yes. As a duo we can split for preparations when the locations and timings work. Send both addresses, the ceremony time and the time you need to leave. We will allow for packing up, lifts, parking and arrivals, then agree a plan that gives each morning attention without rushing.
What if our Birmingham ceremony and reception are in different places?
We plan each transfer with you. Include time for guests to leave the ceremony, transport to arrive and everyone to reach the reception. We can agree whether family photographs happen at the ceremony venue or after arrival, depending on the available space and your plans. There is no single timetable that suits every city wedding.
How do you handle rain or a winter wedding?
We agree a comfortable indoor or sheltered option with your venue and work around the daylight. In winter, outdoor groups and portraits usually fit best soon after the ceremony. If a dry spell appears, we can suggest a short walk. You can still have photographs full of atmosphere without spending your reception outside in the cold.
Is travel to Birmingham included, and what does the film include?
Travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full day packages. Full day videography includes a 7 to 10 minute cinematic highlight film and a 40+ minute documentary film including your complete ceremony and speeches. Photography and film can be booked separately or together; the package pages explain the current inclusions.
How do we book our wedding date?
Send us your date, venue and preferred coverage through the package enquiry form. Cam or Beth will reply personally within 24 to 48 hours. Once availability is confirmed, a £120 deposit secures your date. The remaining balance is due one month before the wedding. We can talk through your plans before you choose.
