LOCAL WEDDING GUIDE & REAL WEDDINGS
Wedding Photographer and Videographer Near Swindon
A country house celebration in Purton, Cotswold barn weddings and room to enjoy your day. Relaxed photographs and wedding films by Cam & Beth.

Wedding photography and videography in Swindon, with time to be yourselves
We are Cam and Beth, the photo and video duo behind Bright Sight. We cover weddings in Swindon, Purton and the surrounding North Wiltshire countryside, with travel across England and Wales included in our full-day packages. Our approach is calm and documentary: photographs and film that remember the people, the atmosphere and the little moments you could not have planned.
If you feel awkward in front of a camera, you are in good company. You do not need to arrive with a list of poses or spend the drinks reception practising them. We give a little guidance when it helps, then leave room for the hugs, conversations and laughter that make the day yours. A short walk together can be enough for portraits, with most of the afternoon spent enjoying your guests.
The Pear Tree in Purton is our local wedding example here. We have also brought in real weddings at Cripps Barn, Kingscote Barn and The Barn at Upcote in Gloucestershire, because a Swindon venue search often opens out into the Cotswolds. The opening photograph shows Laura and Jack at Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire. Each feature below names the venue and county so you can compare the setting as well as the photographs.
01 / Purton, Wiltshire / Jen & Mike
The Pear Tree: a country house wedding near Swindon
For couples who want countryside surroundings without moving their whole search away from Swindon, The Pear Tree is a natural place to start. It is in Purton, with a historic house, a light-filled Orangery, gardens and a vineyard. On a visit, look beyond the favourite portrait spot and imagine the whole day: where you will get ready, gather after the ceremony, sit down to eat and spend the evening with your favourite people.
Jen and Mike’s photographs show the parts of a wedding that are easy to overlook when you are venue hunting. There is the room ready for everyone to arrive, with tables laid and flowers in place. Then there are the people around those tables, listening to a speech and taking in the words together. The same bright windows and warm interior become a backdrop to something much more personal once the day begins.

The quiet moments matter too
The black and white portrait of Jen and Mike feels quite different from the bustle of the wedding breakfast. That is what we love about a complete wedding story: it can hold the room full of laughter and a small moment for just the two of you. Your photographs do not all need the same mood to belong together.
We usually allow 15 to 20 minutes for a relaxed portrait walk, rather than taking you away for a long session. If you would like another few minutes outside later, we can leave that as an option and see how the light and the party feel. There is no need to interrupt something lovely just because a timetable says it is portrait time.
When viewing The Pear Tree: Ask to see the indoor alternative as well as the gardens, and talk through how the rooms change between ceremony, dining and evening celebrations. Current venue arrangements can differ from those in an older wedding gallery. A plan that works in both kinds of weather gives you much more freedom to enjoy the day.
For current booking details, floorplans and event guidelines, visit The Pear Tree's official website.
02 / Near Bibury, Gloucestershire / Laura & Jack
Cripps Barn: a Cotswold comparison north of Swindon
If you are drawn to a barn wedding, Cripps Barn offers a different feel from the country house setting at Purton. The venue is near Bibury in Gloucestershire, with woodland and meadows around the barn. It belongs in the surrounding-area part of your shortlist, with transport and accommodation considered separately from a wedding in Swindon itself.

Laura and Jack’s wedding gives us both the wider setting and the moments inside it. The opening photograph shows them hand in hand in the grounds. Below, a kiss beneath the outdoor ceremony shelter sits alongside an embrace away from the crowd. You can see the venue without the photographs becoming a tour of empty buildings.

When comparing a barn with a hotel, think about how you would like guests to move through the day. Would you enjoy gathering outside between the ceremony and dinner? Where would that gathering move if it rains? A venue can look completely different once everyone is there, so ask to see full wedding stories rather than relying on one beautifully styled table.
For current booking details, floorplans and event guidelines, visit Cripps Barn's official website.
03 / Near Tetbury, Gloucestershire / Zoe & Jack
Kingscote Barn: a countryside ceremony and a confetti welcome
The Kingscote Barn is another surrounding Cotswold option, near Tetbury in Gloucestershire. Zoe and Jack’s ceremony photograph shows the warmth of the indoor barn, with their guests close around them. Later, the confetti photograph has a completely different energy. Both belong in the story, and neither needs you to turn the wedding into a photoshoot.

A room that feels different once it is full
The timber beams and tables give you a sense of the reception setting. On your viewing, imagine the sounds and movement as well: conversations across the tables, someone standing up to speak, and everyone gathering for the evening. Those are the details a film can bring back alongside the photographs.
We also have a dedicated Kingscote Barn wedding guide if you want to explore more of our weddings there. Keep its Gloucestershire location in mind when comparing it with Purton, and check the actual journey from wherever your guests will stay.
For current booking details, floorplans and event guidelines, visit The Kingscote Barn's official website.
04 / Withington, Gloucestershire / Harriet & Kyle
The Barn at Upcote: a wider Gloucestershire wedding idea
Upcote is the furthest north of these photographed comparisons, at Withington near Cheltenham. Its barns are arranged around a garden courtyard, offering a different setting again. It is worth considering if your search has widened into Gloucestershire, rather than treating it as a venue on Swindon’s doorstep.

The people around you, from the morning onwards
Harriet and Kyle’s wedding starts here with time among friends during preparations. Later photographs show them walking together outside and the speeches at the reception table. A complete gallery makes room for the people helping you get ready as well as the two of you in your wedding outfits.
That is a useful way to think about your own coverage. Which people will be with you in the morning? Are there reactions you would love to see from the other side of the room? Tell us what matters, and we can plan around those people without turning their moments into a checklist to perform.

Wedding venues in and around Swindon to compare
The Pear Tree and the three Gloucestershire barns above are photographed examples from our archive. Lydiard Park, Stanton House and Winkworth Farm are researched suggestions for your local and North Wiltshire search. Elcot Park is a wider West Berkshire option shown in Lydia and Alex’s highlight below. We are not claiming a photographed wedding at every venue in this directory.
- The Pear Tree (Purton, Wiltshire): Our local featured wedding. A country house with an Orangery, gardens and vineyard near Swindon.
- Lydiard Park (West Swindon): A researched local option with a historic house ceremony space and hotel reception. Ask which garden spaces are included in your booking.
- Stanton House Hotel (Stanton Fitzwarren, near Swindon): A researched country hotel option for a ceremony and reception, with accommodation. Confirm the room layout and your indoor photograph plan on a visit.
- Winkworth Farm (Near Malmesbury, Wiltshire): A researched North Wiltshire comparison with barns and gardens. Ask about ceremony options, catering arrangements and where guests will stay.
- Cripps Barn (Near Bibury, Gloucestershire): Our photographed Cotswold barn comparison, with woodland and meadows. Plan transport from Swindon separately from your venue timings.
- The Kingscote Barn (Near Tetbury, Gloucestershire): Our photographed countryside barn comparison. Consider the indoor ceremony setting, outdoor portraits and guest accommodation together.
- The Barn at Upcote (Withington, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire): A further Cotswold comparison from our wedding archive, with barns around a garden courtyard. It is outside the Swindon area.
- The Retreat at Elcot Park (Near Newbury, West Berkshire): A wider country house hotel option east of Swindon. Compare its current wedding spaces and accommodation with the North Wiltshire venues.
Planning a Swindon wedding: travel, daylight and time with your guests
A town ceremony and countryside reception need a different plan from a day spent entirely at one venue. Share your actual addresses with us early, including where each partner is getting ready. The M4 and A419 may be part of the journey, but the last stretch to a village or barn matters too. Leave room for everyone to get into cars, park and settle in, rather than using the driving time alone.
If guests are arriving by train
Give them a clear onward plan from Swindon station to the venue, particularly for Purton or a Gloucestershire reception. Think about the return journey at the end of the night as well as the arrival. If you are organising transport, agree the departure point and time with the venue so nobody has to leave a speech to find their lift.
For an autumn or winter wedding
Start with your ceremony time and the daylight available afterwards. A short family photograph list can help you keep outdoor time comfortable, leaving space for portraits before dinner. You do not need to promise yourselves a sunset photograph: window light, an indoor ceremony and a room full of friends can tell the day beautifully too.
A wet-weather plan you actually like
Ask to see where family photographs, drinks and a short portrait would happen indoors. Choose a plan you would be happy to use, rather than one that feels like an afterthought. We can work with the setting you have, and take a few minutes outside if a dry spell arrives. Your wedding is still your wedding, whatever the forecast says.
Keep portraits simple: A relaxed 15 to 20 minute walk after the ceremony and an optional short outing later usually fit more naturally than one long session. Prioritise the people and parts of the day you want to be present for; we will help you build the photographs around them.
One photo and video team for your Swindon wedding

We have photographed and filmed more than 400 weddings since 2016. Working together means one conversation about your plans, a shared timeline and a consistent feel across the photographs and film. During portraits, we capture both at the same time, so you can enjoy a single walk together rather than repeating it for different parts of your coverage.
Photographs let you linger on a look or a hug. Film brings back the voice behind it: the vows, a speech you only half heard through happy tears, or the sound of everyone cheering. Our full-day video packages include a 7 to 10 minute highlight and a 40+ minute documentary film, giving you both the feeling of the celebration and more time with its words.
You can book photography, videography or our combined team package. The combined option includes a £300 saving compared with booking photo and video separately, with a £120 deposit to secure your date. See the photo and video team package for current prices and coverage, or compare highlight and documentary films if you are deciding what you would like to watch again.
A real wedding on film
Louise and Ryan: another Kingscote wedding, this time on film
Zoe and Jack’s photographs above show one Kingscote celebration. Louise and Ryan’s highlight gives you another wedding at the same Gloucestershire venue, with the movement, voices and atmosphere that a still photograph cannot hold. Watch it as you compare the barn setting with The Pear Tree near Swindon. Both are real weddings from our archive; they are different couples and different days.

The Retreat at Elcot Park: a West Berkshire wedding on film
Looking east from Swindon, The Retreat at Elcot Park offers a country house hotel comparison near Newbury in West Berkshire. We covered Lydia and Alex’s wedding as videographers, so their highlight brings this venue into the guide through film rather than a borrowed photo gallery. The current venue offers ceremony and reception spaces with bedrooms on site. If you like the idea of guests staying together, ask about the rooms included in your booking and the plans for the following morning. Their wedding was in 2025, so check today’s arrangements with the venue rather than assuming every space in the film is still offered in the same way. Then enjoy a little of their day, with the setting, people and sounds all part of the story.

Do you offer wedding photography and videography in Swindon?
Yes. Cam and Beth cover Swindon, Purton and the surrounding North Wiltshire area, as well as neighbouring Gloucestershire and West Berkshire. We are based near Cardiff, with travel to your wedding included in our full-day packages. Send your date, venue and the coverage you would like so we can check availability.
Have you photographed a wedding at The Pear Tree in Purton?
Yes. Jen and Mike’s wedding at The Pear Tree is the local example in this guide. Their photographs show the wedding breakfast room, the speeches and a portrait together outside. Cripps Barn, Kingscote Barn and Upcote are separate Gloucestershire weddings, clearly labelled as surrounding-area comparisons.
Is travel to Swindon included?
Travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full-day packages, including Swindon and Purton. Share every preparation, ceremony and reception address with us when planning the day, especially if you are moving between the town and a countryside venue.
How long do we need for couple portraits?
Usually a relaxed 15 to 20 minute walk is enough, with an optional short outing later if the light and your plans allow. You can chat, hold hands and take a breath together. We give gentle guidance when it helps, rather than expecting you to know how to pose.
Can you cover both partners getting ready in different places?
Often, yes. As a photo and video duo, we can split during preparations where the locations and timings work. We check both addresses, the journey to the ceremony and which moments matter most before agreeing the morning plan.
What happens if it rains or we are marrying in winter?
We plan an indoor or sheltered option with you and the venue team, and leave flexibility for a short outing if the weather improves. For winter weddings, the ceremony time and available daylight shape the outdoor photograph plan. You can still have a beautiful, personal wedding story without a sunny afternoon.
How do we book our Swindon wedding date?
Send your date, venue and preferred photo, video or combined coverage through the package enquiry form. Once we have confirmed availability and you are ready to book, a £120 deposit secures the date. The remaining balance is due one month before the wedding.
