We are Cam and Beth, the photo and film team behind Bright Sight. Our approach is documentary-led, with gentle direction when it helps. We notice the squeeze of a hand before the vows and the friend quietly wiping away a tear. When it is time for portraits, we keep them relaxed and purposeful, usually a 15-minute walk rather than a long list of poses.

Lainston House: room to breathe, close to the celebration

Hannah and Jamie's April wedding is a lovely example of how a country-house setting can feel personal. The blossom, stone archways and red-brick house gave their photographs a sense of place. But the story is still theirs: a walk together, an easy smile, and the people waiting to celebrate with them.

At Lainston House, near Winchester, the surroundings give you choices without making every choice compulsory. The venue offers spaces including the Dawley Barn, the Drawing Room, the South Lawn and an outdoor wedding pavilion. Think about the atmosphere you want for each part of the day, then ask how guests will move between those spaces.

Choose a short route, not a grand tour

It is tempting to visit every corner of a beautiful estate. A handful of places close together usually makes a more relaxed portrait session. We can find a sheltered spot, a little greenery and a sense of the house without turning your drinks reception into an expedition.

If the weather changes, agree an indoor gathering place with the venue in advance. A comfortable alternative keeps everyone together and lets the photographs follow the day.

Bury Court: garden vows and a barn full of character

Tom and Sarah's July wedding at Bury Court moves from the barn and gardens to an outdoor ceremony surrounded by greenery. Their photographs have that lovely summer rhythm: guests settling into their seats, delighted reactions during the ceremony and a joyful shower of confetti afterwards.

The barn and gardens are a strong combination if you love an outdoor feel but also want an indoor setting with character. Bury Court is in Bentley, Hampshire, about five miles south-west of Farnham, and its postal address is Farnham, Surrey. For couples travelling between counties, the real location is more useful than treating a postal address as the whole story.

For portraits, the garden can become a brief pause in the day. Tom and Sarah's hedge-framed photograph feels private without needing a remote location. We look for that same balance: a little space for the two of you, then an easy return to the party.

Beaulieu: a ceremony with history, a day full of life

Chloe and Matt's wedding brings together the scale of Beaulieu Abbey Church and the intimacy of the people inside it. The aisle photograph gives you the setting; the closer view brings you back to the couple. Both belong in the story.

Let the ceremony have its own pace

A church ceremony has its own arrangements and boundaries. We discuss those with you ahead of time, so you can concentrate on the promises you are making. It is especially helpful to confirm any restrictions on where photography and filming can take place.

A hotel wedding can make the practical side of the day feel simpler. At Old Thorns, Stuart and Laura's photographs move from the ceremony to confetti, conversations and a moment together outside. The change of setting adds variety while the people remain at the centre of it all.

Old Thorns offers several wedding spaces, including indoor rooms and outdoor options. When you visit, ask to see the exact room you would use with a layout close to your expected guest numbers. A room can feel very different once the aisle, tables and dancefloor are in place.

Small transitions are part of the story

The walk out of the ceremony, a chat at a table and the first quiet minute together all deserve space. We plan around those transitions so the day does not become a series of stops for the cameras.

If you are both getting ready at the hotel, share room locations and access times in advance. Being on one site is helpful, but it is still worth allowing enough time to get dressed, see your family and arrive without rushing.

The Square Tower: stone walls, happy faces and sea air

Claire and James's August wedding has a completely different sense of place. Inside the Square Tower, the stone walls bring everyone close to the ceremony. Outside, the seafront opens up the photographs. It is a striking contrast without needing a long journey between the two.

The tower offers ceremony and reception arrangements, so establish exactly what your booking covers and where everyone will go afterwards. If your reception is elsewhere, include the journey in the day's plan. Time for guests to leave, travel and settle in is real time, even when the locations look close on a map.

A Hampshire timeline with room for real life

Hampshire is a county of very different edges, so start with where your guests will be travelling from. Winchester and Sparsholt, the New Forest around Beaulieu, the coast at Portsmouth and the quieter Liphook and Bentley corners towards Surrey each ask for a different kind of day. Fix your ceremony, food and any journey between venues first, then leave breathing room around them.

1. Before the ceremony: allow a little space after getting dressed. Those last conversations with family are often more meaningful than another detail photograph.
2. After the ceremony: give yourselves time for congratulations before gathering a short, agreed list of family groups. Ask someone who knows the guests to help bring people together.
3. During the drinks reception: plan a relaxed 15-minute portrait walk nearby. If the light is lovely later, an optional short second walk can add something different.
4. As evening begins: check speeches, food and the first dance with your venue team. We want you enjoying those moments, not watching the clock for us.

An April wedding in country-house grounds can be lovely but changeable, so keep your indoor gathering spot as appealing as the lawn. A July barn ceremony asks about shade, and an August seafront day in Old Portsmouth asks about wind. For a winter date, check how much daylight remains once the ceremony is over. Either way, a wet-weather plan you would still be happy using is the one to choose.
