LOCAL WEDDING GUIDE & REAL WEDDINGS
Wedding Photographer and Videographer Near North Yorkshire
A house beside the moors near Scarborough, a walled garden near Richmond, a tithe barn in Wharfedale and a tipi field near Thirsk. Natural photographs and wedding films from across North Yorkshire, with every venue labelled by its real place.

In short: Bright Sight is Cam and Beth, a photo and video duo based near Cardiff. We photograph and film weddings across North Yorkshire, and travel across England and Wales is included. This guide shows two weddings at Hackness Grange near Scarborough, Middleton Lodge near Richmond, a wedding near Richmond, a tipi wedding near Thirsk, The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey and Carlton Towers in photographs, plus East Riddlesden Hall in West Yorkshire as a nearby comparison, with highlight films from Hackness Grange and Middleton Lodge. Standard full-day packages start at £1,999 for photography, £1,999 for videography or £3,699 for both, with a £120 deposit to secure your date.
North Yorkshire wedding photography and videography, from the coast to the Dales
North Yorkshire is the biggest county in England, and a wedding there can be almost anything: a country house on the edge of the moors, a walled garden near Richmond, a barn in Wharfedale or a tipi in a field in the Vale of York. Couples tend to choose it for the space, and the light that comes with all that open land is the reason we enjoy working there.
Cam and Beth work as a photo and video duo, quietly in the background of your day. We want the groomsmen laughing in a sunny room, the walk across a small bridge to the ceremony and the fireworks at the end of the night to be in your gallery and film, with no stiff posing and no long separation from your guests.
How we cover Yorkshire. We are based near Cardiff, so North Yorkshire is a long journey for us. Travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full-day packages, so you are not charged extra for the distance. In return we ask for your date, ceremony time and addresses early, so we can plan the journey and make sure your morning preparations are covered. Our Leeds guide and Sheffield guide look at the cities to the south, and our Lake District guide looks west over the Pennines.
We have kept the labelling honest. Every venue here is in North Yorkshire except East Riddlesden Hall, which is in West Yorkshire and is shown as a nearby comparison.
01 / Hackness, near Scarborough / Chloe & Christian
Hackness Grange: a bridge of white flowers, a fairy-lit canopy and fireworks over the lawn
Chloe and Christian married at Hackness Grange on the edge of the North York Moors, a few miles from Scarborough, in the spring of 2026. The morning is quiet and bright: Christian in a green patterned jacket fastening his bow tie beside a sash window, a groomsman straightening his collar in black and white, and Chloe in a lace-edged veil looking back over her shoulder.

The ceremony sits among the trees. Chloe crosses a small bridge dressed with white flowers beside an older relative in black, and later walks back up the aisle with her bouquet in the air beneath a canopy hung with fairy lights. Hackness Grange describes about 17 acres of landscaped gardens and offers a getting-ready room, an indoor ceremony suite for up to 120 guests and a honeymoon suite with every wedding package, so the whole day can stay in one place.
The house is at its best in the evening, with the lawn running down to a pond that holds the stone front in its reflection. The last photograph is the two of them watching fireworks, which is the kind of moment we like to be standing nearby for rather than staging. Chloe and Christian’s highlight film is below.

02 / Hackness, near Scarborough / Pippa & Dylan
Hackness Grange again: a sunburst crown, bubbles and two pugs in bow ties
Pippa and Dylan’s August 2022 wedding at Hackness Grange shows the same venue with a very different mood. Pippa has her make-up done in a bright room by a make-up artist in a floral dress, then stands in front of a tall silver mirror in a gold sunburst crown holding a bouquet of pink and white roses.

The couple’s style is the story. Dylan wears a black jacket embroidered with gold flowers, and the two of them pose on a white staircase wound with trailing greenery before kissing as soap bubbles drift beneath a roof of fairy lights. Their two pugs, dressed in bow ties, then join them on the lawn for the portraits everyone remembers.
We mention this second wedding because choosing a Yorkshire coast venue does not mean choosing one look. A house this size can suit a quiet, formal day as well as a colourful one, so tell us what you want the day to feel like and we will plan the photographs and film around it.

03 / Middleton Tyas, near Richmond / Angel & Adam
Middleton Lodge: tall grasses, a laugh in the ceremony and the first dance
Angel and Adam married at Middleton Lodge, near Richmond, in August 2023. The photograph at the top of this guide shows their ceremony outdoors, with guests in rows in front of an arched stone building and tall trees behind. In another moment of the ceremony the two of them laugh with their foreheads together while guests look on.

Middleton Lodge is a privately owned estate of around 200 acres at Middleton Tyas, a few minutes from Scotch Corner. It lists a Palladian main house with a garden marquee and a two-acre walled garden with a contemporary Fig House, and says the main house and walled garden together use all 27 bedrooms. For a guest list travelling in from further away, that room count matters.
Our portraits of Angel and Adam happen among the planting: wrapped in tall grasses, then Adam kissing Angel’s forehead in front of pink flowers. The day moves inside for the first dance, where Adam turns Angel under a skylight in a stone hall as the guests watch. The highlight film of their day is below.

04 / Near Richmond / Tiana & Marcus
Near Richmond: a moorland road, iron chandeliers and a cheer in front of a tall stone window
Tiana and Marcus’s June 2022 wedding, near Richmond, is the most open of the stories in this guide. Before the ceremony the two of them hold hands and walk along a quiet road across the moor, with the hills going soft in the grey light behind them.

The ceremony takes place in a stone hall lit by iron chandeliers, and the couple hold hands during the ceremony. After it, Tiana raises her bouquet and cheers in front of a tall window of leaded panes, which makes a calm, bright backdrop against the dark stonework.
This wedding is a good reminder that Yorkshire weddings are not only about big hotels and barns. Open land around the day gives you long views for portraits, and a stone interior that can look wonderful even when the weather outside is grey.

05 / Carlton Miniott, near Thirsk / Harriet & Daniel
Carlton Miniott: tipis, lanterns and a kiss at dusk near Thirsk
Harriet and Daniel’s September 2022 wedding at Carlton Miniott, near Thirsk, was held in tipis. Lanterns line a matting path that runs towards the open front of the tents, and the warm light from inside glows against the deep blue of the early evening sky.

A tipi wedding gives the photographs a very different feel from a country house. The light is soft and low, the guests are all close together and the day does not move from room to room, so portraits happen in the field and the woods rather than in a ballroom. The quieter portraits of Harriet and Daniel happen among dark trees away from the tents.
If you are planning a marquee or tipi wedding in the Vale of York, tell us early how the field is lit after dark and where the tents face, because that decides where we can take the best evening photographs.
06 / Bolton Abbey, near Skipton / Amber & Will
The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey: raised glasses, a veil at the window and a barn full of cheering
Amber and Will married at The Tithe Barn on the Bolton Abbey estate in July 2025, at the western edge of North Yorkshire in the Wharfe valley. Their morning starts with Will and his groomsmen raising their glasses in a sunny room and Amber at a window while a woman sets her veil, in black and white.

Inside the barn the two of them kiss over a table of white flowers while their guests cheer from the chairs beneath the timbers. Afterwards they leave through an arched stone doorway in black and white, walk beside guests clapping on a sunlit path and stop for a quiet embrace on the lawn under tall trees.
A Wharfedale estate is reached by country roads, so give your guests clear directions and plan how long the journey will take them. Share your timetable early and we will help leave room in it for portraits.

For current venue details, explore The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey.
07 / Carlton, near Goole / Yukki & Leslie
Carlton Towers: a long table, clear umbrellas and sparklers to end the day
Yukki and Leslie married at Carlton Towers, a country house near Goole, in October 2023. Leslie straightens his jacket by a tall window, the two of them hold hands during the ceremony under chandeliers and a long dining table is laid beneath a timber ceiling.

Outside, the weather became part of the day. The couple laugh together in the garden, walk through confetti under clear umbrellas and pose beside the ivy, where Leslie lifts Yukki off the ground. The evening ends with guests holding sparklers around the two of them as they kiss.
Carlton Towers describes itself as an exclusive-use venue. If you are choosing a house like this, ask what exclusive use includes overnight and how the rooms are used on the day, so there is time for portraits before the evening. Yukki and Leslie’s highlight film from the day is below.

For current venue details, explore Carlton Towers.
08 / Riddlesden, near Keighley / Millie & Mitch
East Riddlesden Hall: a barn aisle, confetti and sage green bridesmaids by the water
Millie and Mitch’s June 2025 wedding at East Riddlesden Hall, a National Trust manor house near Keighley in West Yorkshire, is the nearby comparison in this guide. It is in West Yorkshire rather than North Yorkshire, so we label it by its real county.

The morning begins with Mitch’s groomsmen laughing together on a deck in black and white, then Millie having her make-up finished in a softly lit room and standing on a balcony with her warm-toned bouquet beside the water. She then walks down the aisle under timber beams hung with greenery.
The National Trust describes a 17th-century manor with a pond that reflects the house, an Airedale Barn that seats up to 160 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and a smaller Great Hall for up to 30. After the ceremony, confetti fills the air outside a stone barn lit with fairy lights, the bridesmaids in sage green throw up their bouquets by the lake, and Mitch kisses Millie’s cheek beneath a stone arch.

Planning photography and film around your North Yorkshire wedding
Coast, Dales or Vale of York
North Yorkshire venues sit a long way apart. Hackness Grange is on the edge of the North York Moors near Scarborough, Middleton Lodge is a few minutes from Scotch Corner near Richmond, and The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey is in Wharfedale on the far side of the county. If your guests are travelling from all over the country, check how far each venue is from the railways and motorways before you decide.
Getting your guests there
Scarborough and Thirsk have railway stations, but Richmond does not, and most venues in this guide need a car or a pre-booked taxi for the last few miles. Think about how older relatives and anyone with young children will travel, and plan a sensible gap for arrivals so nobody is rushing past the photographs you care about.
Staying on site
Several venues here have bedrooms for guests. Hackness Grange includes a honeymoon suite with every wedding package, and Middleton Lodge lists 27 bedrooms across its main house and walled garden accommodation. Carlton Towers describes itself as exclusive use, so ask what that includes overnight. When your guests are staying where the wedding is, the morning is easier to photograph and film and the evening can run on without anyone watching the clock for a taxi.
Moorland weather and evening light
Moorland and Dales weather changes quickly. Ask your venue where guests can shelter, which indoor space you would use for portraits and how paths and lawns are lit after dark. Yorkshire’s long summer evenings are the best light of the year, so we would rather leave 15 to 20 minutes after the meal than rush the portraits earlier.
Marquees and tipis
A tipi or marquee wedding, like Harriet and Daniel’s near Thirsk, depends on how the field is lit after dark. Tell us early where the tents face and what lighting the supplier is bringing, so we can plan where to take the evening portraits.
Before you enquire: note your date, the ceremony venue and where you will get ready, even if that is a family home. If you are choosing between a coastal house, a Dales barn and a country estate, tell us your shortlist and we can talk through how each tends to work for photographs and film.

One photo and video duo for a wedding that spans house and moor

Hiring photography and film from one team means one conversation about your timetable instead of two. Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together since 2016, so on the day they already know who takes the ceremony from the aisle and who watches the reactions. If your wedding moves from a ceremony in a barn to a garden or a tipi, nobody has to stop and repeat a moment for a second camera.
Our combined photo and video team package has a £120 deposit and a £300 saving compared with booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, with travel across England and Wales included in our standard full-day packages. For multiple locations or custom timings, tell us your plans so we can confirm the arrangements with you.
A North Yorkshire wedding videographer for the parts you want to hear again
A photograph holds the look on someone’s face. A film keeps the sound around it: a voice catching on a vow, the pause before a speech and the room joining in when the dancing starts. We film so the highlight follows your day in order, rather than reading as a montage of scenery.
Our full-day video packages include a 7 to 10 minute highlight and a 40+ minute documentary film, including the complete ceremony and speeches. Everything is recorded twice as it happens and backed up again that night. Watch Chloe and Christian’s highlight from Hackness Grange and Angel and Adam’s highlight from Middleton Lodge below.

Do you photograph and film weddings in North Yorkshire?
Yes. Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed weddings from the coast near Scarborough to Richmond and the Dales, and across the Vale of York. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages, so a Yorkshire wedding is priced the same way as one near home. Send your date and venue to check availability.
Which real weddings can we see in this guide?
Chloe and Christian and Pippa and Dylan at Hackness Grange near Scarborough, Angel and Adam at Middleton Lodge near Richmond, Tiana and Marcus near Richmond, Harriet and Daniel near Thirsk, Amber and Will at The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey, Yukki and Leslie at Carlton Towers and Millie and Mitch at East Riddlesden Hall in West Yorkshire are shown in photographs. North Yorkshire is a long way from Cardiff. How does that work?
It is a long journey north, which is why we want your date, ceremony time and addresses early. Travel across England and Wales is included in our standard full-day packages, so there is no separate travel charge for a Yorkshire wedding. Once we know your timetable we can plan how we arrive and make sure the morning preparations are covered.
Do we need to pose for a long time?
No. We usually take a relaxed 15 to 20 minute portrait walk near your celebration, with gentle guidance when it helps. Most of the day is captured as it unfolds so you can enjoy your guests.
Our guests are travelling in from all over the country. How should we plan the day?
Scarborough and Thirsk have railway stations, but Richmond does not, and most North Yorkshire venues need a car or a pre-booked taxi for the last few miles. Tell us where your guests are staying and how long they will need to reach the venue. Venues with their own bedrooms, such as Hackness Grange and Middleton Lodge, make the day easier for many guests.
How much does a North Yorkshire wedding photographer and videographer cost?
Our standard full-day packages start at £1,999 for photography, £1,999 for videography and £3,699 for photography and videography together. Travel across England and Wales is included, so a venue on the Yorkshire coast or in the Dales is priced the same way as a wedding near Cardiff. Longer packages add more coverage and extras, and the package pages show the current inclusions.
Can we book photography and videography together?
Yes. Our photo and video team package brings Cam and Beth together with one shared timetable, a £120 deposit and a £300 saving compared with booking separately. Full-day video packages include a 7 to 10 minute highlight and a 40+ minute documentary film. See the package pages for current coverage and prices.
