A seventeenth-century mansion estate near Canterbury
Broome Park Hotel is on Canterbury Road, near Canterbury in Kent (CT4 6QX). The venue's own pages describe a Grade I listed Mansion House completed around 1638, set in formal gardens and open parkland, with a golf course on the estate. The red brick of the house is the backdrop for most of the photographs on this page.
We photographed and filmed one wedding here: Victoria and Benson on 8 June 2023. Our Kent guide shows Broome Park beside other venues in the county, and this page stays with the estate and with their day. What we say about the buildings comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.
For current venue details, explore Broome Park Hotel. Victoria and Benson married in June, so ask the venue how the gardens, the marquee and the ceremony rooms work in the colder months.
01 / The spaces / From the venue's own description
The Mansion House, the Italian Gardens and the Wedding Marquee
The venue says its indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces are licensed for ceremonies for up to 120 guests. The Mansion House is licensed for civil ceremonies and blessings and is also used for receptions. The Italian Gardens, described as formal gardens framed by open parkland, are listed for outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions in spring and summer.
The Wedding Marquee overlooks the Italian Gardens and the estate. The venue says it seats up to 150 guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 200 for an evening function, and describes it as a spring or summer option. Exclusive use of the full estate is available, and a dedicated wedding coordinator comes with every booking.
The wedding page does not describe getting-ready rooms or finishing times, so ask the venue which rooms are yours on the morning and when the evening has to end.

Victoria and Benson: robes with sunglasses, a brick mansion and a bouncy castle
Victoria and Benson married at Broome Park on 8 June 2023. The photograph at the top of this page is from the portraits: the two of them lean in to kiss on the lawn in front of the red-brick mansion while the wedding party, in pale blue and navy, sit and stand around them and laugh.
The morning starts in a room with patterned wallpaper, where a group of women in white robes and towel turbans fill a gold sofa, most of them in sunglasses, holding glasses while one holds a bottle.

Later in the day Victoria jumps in her full white gown on a white bouncy castle, with her bridesmaids in pale blue and the children around her. A moment like this only happens when the day has a little room in it, so we suggest leaving some unplanned time after the formal portraits.

03 / Staying at Broome Park / From the venue's own description
Mansion suites, woodland lodges and a cottage
The venue lists 22 Mansion House suites, which overlook the gardens and the golf course, and 14 self-catering woodland lodges in the grounds. Its FAQ also lists Flint Cottage as a four-bedroom cottage. Ask which accommodation comes with your booking, what costs extra and how many of your guests it can sleep.

Victoria and Benson at Broome Park: their June 2023 highlight
Victoria and Benson’s highlight film retells their June 2023 wedding at Broome Park, from the first moments of the day to the evening, around the photographs above. Watch it to see and hear the mansion and the grounds in motion, then ask the venue which of its spaces suit your numbers.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Where you marry: The Mansion House is licensed for civil ceremonies and blessings, and the Italian Gardens are listed for outdoor ceremonies in spring and summer. Ask when the venue needs your choice, and tell us once it is settled so we can plan the morning and the portraits around it.
- Getting ready: The venue's wedding page does not say which rooms are available for preparation. Ask which room is yours and from what time, because that is where the first photographs of the day happen.
- Rain: The Mansion House and the Wedding Marquee give you sheltered choices. Agree an indoor or covered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, and we settle it together on the day.
- Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. The lawn in front of the house gives the whole wedding party room, as the photograph at the top of this page shows.
- Time to play: Victoria and Benson's bouncy castle is a reminder to leave a few unplanned minutes after the formal photographs. Tell us about any lawn games, children or surprises and we will find a place for them in the timeline.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a red-brick mansion with formal gardens, a lawn and a marquee is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
