A Georgian mansion and a painted chapel near Windsor
De Vere Beaumont Estate is on Burfield Road at Old Windsor in Berkshire (SL4 2JJ), about 3 miles from Windsor. The venue's wedding page describes an 18th-century Georgian mansion house and a 19th-century Romanesque-style chapel in parkland, with a dedicated wedding team. The grounds are given as 42 acres on some of its pages and 40 acres on others, so confirm with the venue. The venue's estate page says the original mansion was built for Lord Weymouth and that the estate was a public school from 1854 to 1967.
We photographed Shannon and Liam's wedding here on 8 December 2024, and their day is the one in this guide.

Shannon and Liam: a window-lit dress, a painted chapel and a walk through confetti
Shannon and Liam married on 8 December 2024. The photograph at the top of this page is the two of them laughing and walking hand in hand through falling confetti, Liam in a grey morning suit and Shannon with a cascading bouquet. The morning starts with the dress hanging in a tall window, and with Liam adjusting his buttonhole beside another.

In a bedroom Shannon smiles over her shoulder while a woman in a dark green dress fastens the back of her gown.

The ceremony is in the chapel, where Shannon and Liam stand at the front beneath a richly painted red and gold ceiling and a rose window while guests sit in the pews.

The Chapel, the White House and the Hanover Suite
The venue's wedding page describes the Chapel, built in 1870 with an ornate painted ceiling and a rose window, and says four wedding suites on the estate are licensed for civil ceremonies. Its events page for the Chapel adds that it was built by the architect Joseph Hansom, with a barrel ceiling painted by William Romaine-Walker, a restored stained-glass window, the original altar, its own bar and a private entrance.
The wedding page does not name all four licensed suites, but the venue's Chapel packages document lists the Chapel, Hampton or Parlour as the ceremony options. The venue's events pages give the Chapel as up to 200 people and the Hampton Suite, originally the school dining room, with a gallery area, a private bar and direct access to the gardens, as up to 140. Those are event figures, not ceremony seating plans, so ask the venue for ceremony numbers in writing.
The wedding page names the White House for more intimate weddings of up to 50 guests, with a separate entrance and reception, and the recently refurbished Hanover Suite in the main house, suited to larger weddings, with natural light and direct access to the Hanover Bar and patio for summer drinks. It says there is room for up to 550 guests, and describes parkland with stone monuments suited to photographs and free on-site parking. The page links a virtual tour of the mansion house and the White House and a showround booking.
03 / Getting there / From the venue's own pages
Parking, the M25 and Egham station
The wedding page says free parking is available on site, and the White House page describes a sweeping drive up to a mansion house car park. The estate is about 3 miles from Windsor and a few minutes from junction 13 of the M25, with Heathrow about 15 minutes away by road. Egham station is about 3 miles away, with fast connections to London Waterloo and Reading.

Bedrooms and suites in the White House
The venue's pages mention luxury bedrooms and suites, including deluxe rooms in the Georgian White House that were recently refurbished to reflect the building's heritage, many with roll-top baths and walk-in showers. The White House page says the house was once a public school known as Catholic Eton, and that some rooms and suites were formerly the Headmaster's Study, the school chemist and the Matron's bedroom. The wedding page adds that the house offers a number of wedding rooms, and the venue's Chapel packages document mentions spending the wedding night in one of the original Mansion House suites.
The pages do not give a bedroom total. The venue's booking form lets you ask for rooms close to each other or adjoining rooms, if available, so ask the venue which rooms come with your booking and when you can have them on the morning of the wedding.
Planning your photographs at De Vere Beaumont Estate
A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Where the ceremony is: in the Chapel or in one of the other licensed suites; the venue's Chapel packages document names Hampton and Parlour. Tell us your plan so we can arrange the morning around it.
- Getting ready: ask when your bedrooms are yours on the morning, since that is where the first photographs happen. In Shannon and Liam's photographs the dress hangs in a tall sash window in a round-bayed room with green armchairs, so ask which room you will have and what its light is like.
- Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. The venue puts forward its parkland and stone monuments as photograph spots; choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask someone who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The mansion house, the stone monuments and the parkland give you very different backdrops, and the estate page also mentions natural ponds and commissioned sculptures. The Chapel's painted ceiling and rose window, seen in Shannon and Liam's ceremony photograph, are worth asking about: check whether the Chapel can be used for portraits once the ceremony is over.
- Winter dates: daylight is short in December, so keep outdoor photographs close to the building. We check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you.
- Visiting first: the venue offers showrounds and wedding fairs or open days where it is dressed for the occasion, which is a good moment to walk between the Chapel, the suite and the bedrooms and see how far they are apart.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a mansion house with a painted chapel and parkland around it is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
