A walled garden and a glass-roofed Orangery
Foxtail Barns is an exclusive-use wedding venue near Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, on an estate the venue describes as 70 acres with five lakes, mature woodland and follies. Its ceremony space is the Orangery, which the venue calls relaxed and botanically inspired, with oak beams, a glass roof and a glass wall, and it hosts weddings all to yourselves, all day.
We have worked on two weddings here: James and Elise in August 2024, on film, and Jenny and Conan on 17 September 2025, photographed. This page follows Jenny and Conan's day in photographs, opened by the two of them on a mossy garden path. Our Staffordshire guide shows Foxtail beside other Staffordshire venues; here we stay with the venue itself. What we say about the buildings and the grounds comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

The Orangery, the walled garden and the party barn
The venue says the Orangery holds up to 150 guests, with oak beams supporting a contemporary glass roof along its length, a glass wall down one side and air conditioning all year round. Guests take their seats about ten minutes before the ceremony, and afterwards move out into the walled garden, enclosed by its original 18th-century red-brick walls, for the drinks reception.
The party barn is modern and industrial in style, and the estate offers lakes, woodland and follies for more intimate photographs. In Jenny and Conan's photographs the grounds give a mossy path under overhanging trees, a narrow stone walkway through dense foliage, and a dark wooden floor in a timber-clad barn.
02 / September 2025 / Jenny and Conan
Jenny and Conan: a glass roof, a mossy path and shots on the dancefloor
Jenny and Conan married at Foxtail Barns on 17 September 2025. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits: Jenny lifting the skirt of her white gown and Conan in a tan suit walking side by side along a mossy path under overhanging trees.
Under the glass roof of the ceremony room, Conan turns to watch Jenny come down the aisle on her father's arm, guests on both sides and a red-brick wall behind. At the end of the aisle the two of them stand hand in hand, smiling, Conan in brown tweed and Jenny in an off-the-shoulder gown.

After the ceremony they walk hand in hand along a narrow stone walkway through green foliage and a red-leaved tree, and into the barn Conan leads Jenny across a dark wooden floor. Later Jenny laughs and clinks shot glasses with Conan and their friends on a crowded dancefloor under green and pink lights.

03 / Staying at Foxtail / From the venue's own description
Woodland pods and a wedding night suite
The venue says its wedding package includes a wedding night suite, and that it has 20 woodland guest pods nestled into the trees, 18 doubles and two family pods, reserved for your wedding guests on the night of the wedding. It also has a dressing room, the Fox Den.
For photographs, pods on site mean the morning can be calm and the evening can run late without anyone worrying about getting home. Tell us your timings and we will plan the day around them.
A real wedding on film
Foxtail Barns: James and Elise’s August 2024 wedding on film
James and Elise’s highlight film retells their August 2024 wedding at Foxtail Barns, from the first moments of the day to the evening. This page has no photographs of their day, so the film is where you can see and hear how a wedding here looks, then ask the venue which of its spaces suit your numbers.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Ceremony: The Orangery, about ten minutes' seating before the ceremony, then the walled garden for drinks. Tell us your timings so we can plan around them.
- The estate: Five lakes, woodland and follies give a lot of choice for portraits. We check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you before the day.
- Rain: Agree an indoor or sheltered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, and we settle it together on the day.
- Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: We usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The mossy paths, the walkway through the foliage and the walled garden give you very different backdrops.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so an Orangery, a walled garden and a woodland estate is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
