This page is about weddings at voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa near Haslemere in Surrey, where we have photographed three weddings. A historic hotel and spa on the Surrey and Sussex border
voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa is on Petworth Road, on the outskirts of Haslemere in Surrey (GU27 3BQ). The hotel describes itself as set in 22 acres of woodland on the slopes of the Surrey and Sussex hills. Its oldest building is a Grade II listed Tudor farm house dating from 1475, and the main hotel is made from converted farm barns and outbuildings.
We have photographed three weddings here: Georgie and Alastair on 29 October 2022, Nadja and Will on 3 June 2023 and Ana and Dan on 9 May 2026. This page follows all three in photographs. Our Surrey guide shows Lythe Hill beside other venues in the county, our Sussex guide covers the venues just across the border, and here we stay with the hotel itself. What we say about the buildings comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.
For current venue details, explore Lythe Hill. The three weddings were in May, June and October, so ask the venue how the grounds and rooms change in other seasons.
01 / The spaces / From the venue's own description
A lakeside gazebo, two suites and a meadow
The venue's wedding pages describe several settings. For an outdoor ceremony there is a gazebo with a view over the lake, which the venue says is available during British Summer Time only. Beside it is the Meadow, an outdoor space for arrival and welcome drinks in the drier months, with its own bar and room for garden games.
Indoors, the Hazel Suite is the largest private wedding space, with exposed beams, a lantern ceiling, a private patio and a dance floor. The venue lists it for ceremonies of up to 150 guests, wedding breakfasts of up to 150 and evening receptions of up to 250. The Cedar Suite is a smaller, contemporary room with exposed brickwork and wooden flooring, listed for ceremonies of up to 80 guests and drinks receptions of up to 100. The main wedding page also lists the Tudor House as a traditional setting for a more intimate celebration.
The venue also offers an exclusive-use wedding package on selected dates, which includes the Tudor Restaurant and Bar, the Wine Cellar and La Collina Pizzeria, a wedding suite for the night, and access to the gardens. Its pages do not say which rooms are used for ceremonies under each package, so ask which spaces come with your date.
02 / October 2022 / Georgie and Alastair
Georgie and Alastair: a quiet hug, confetti and a dog in a flower collar
Georgie and Alastair married at Lythe Hill on 29 October 2022. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits: the two of them kissing beside the lake, with the fountain soft behind them and the oak leaves already turning.
Before the ceremony Georgie, in her veil, hugs a man in a navy suit in a bedroom with a dark four-poster bed, her bouquet of rust and cream roses held out to one side.

Their dog was part of the day. Outside a tile-roofed brick building, Alastair holds the dog's rope lead while Georgie laughs beside him and guests throw confetti, and later the three of them walk arm in arm along a gravel path scattered with fallen leaves.

03 / May 2026 / Ana and Dan
Ana and Dan: bright flowers, laughing portraits and a long May evening
Ana and Dan married at Lythe Hill on 9 May 2026. The morning starts in a room with pink curtains and a pale green wall, where Ana laughs in a chair in white pyjamas while her hair is curled.

In the afternoon sun they stand under tall oak trees on a gravel path, Dan's cheek against Ana's hair and Ana laughing with a bright bouquet of pink, blue and white flowers in her hand.

At the top table, Ana looks up at a guest in a blue satin dress who is giving a speech, with a floral arch of orange, pink and purple flowers behind them.

The evening portraits were taken on the lawns, in softer light. In one they run hand in hand up the grass with the hotel's brick buildings behind them, and in another Ana leans into a laugh in Dan's arms with the wooded hills beyond.

04 / June 2023 / Nadja and Will
Nadja and Will: a fountain, a brown dog, a log to saw and a gazebo in the evening sun
Nadja and Will married at Lythe Hill on 3 June 2023, and we photographed and filmed their day.
The photographs in this section were picked by ChatGPT from their gallery, not by Cam.
A brown dog in a flower collar joins the portraits beside the lake. Will, in a white shirt and tan braces, stands next to Nadja, who holds a bouquet of dried flowers in pink, yellow and purple, with the fountain throwing spray behind them.

Later the two of them saw through a log together, on a wooden trestle trimmed with ivy and red roses. Nadja laughs out loud while Will looks down at the saw, with a hedge and trees behind them.

One photograph shows the room before the wedding breakfast, with sun slanting through the roof windows and throwing shadows across a long curtain. Round tables are laid with glasses and wooden chairs beneath a mirror ball and iron chandeliers.

The evening portraits make the most of the light. In one they stand in drifting white smoke on the grass, looking at each other, and in another they touch foreheads in the low sun, with a tree and a low brick building behind them.

Sitting in a white gazebo with lanterns on its posts, Will kisses Nadja's forehead, with the trees and the lake beyond.

In another, the sun comes through tall grasses behind them as Will holds Nadja close and kisses her cheek.

To finish, they kiss on a patch of lawn in front of a black and white timber-framed building with a tiled roof and brick chimneys, under a deep blue sky.

05 / Staying at Lythe Hill / From the venue's own description
Bedrooms, a Tudor farm house and a spa
The venue's own pages give different bedroom counts in different places, so ask it to confirm how many of your guests it can sleep and which rooms come with your date. The Tudor farm house holds the restaurant and a small number of individual bedrooms and suites, and the hotel also has a spa and health club.
For photographs, ask which room you can use to get ready and from what time. Georgie's hug and Ana's hair styling were both taken in rooms in the hotel, and knowing where each of you will be lets us plan the morning around you.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Choosing the ceremony space: The venue lists a lakeside gazebo for outdoor ceremonies in British Summer Time, and the Hazel and Cedar Suites indoors. Ask when it needs you to choose and what the wet-weather plan is, so we can plan the morning and the portraits around it.
- Timing: The venue's wedding pages do not give finishing times, so ask for the timings of your date in writing. Tell us once you have agreed them and we will plan the portrait walk around the light.
- Rain and the seasons: Georgie and Alastair's October leaves, Nadja and Will's June evening light and Ana and Dan's May lawns show how much the grounds change through the year. The venue says an outdoor ceremony can move indoors if the weather needs it, and we settle the details together on the day.
- Dogs and children: Georgie and Alastair's dog is in several of their photographs, and a brown dog joins Nadja and Will by the lake. If a dog or children are part of your day, tell us and we will leave a few minutes for them in the timeline.
- Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Getting ready: If you and your partner are in different places, we move between you together, splitting our time as a team. Groom preparation typically takes about 15 minutes.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a historic hotel with lawns, a lake and a meadow is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
