A Georgian manor on a 700 acre estate

Parley Manor is at Parley Green, Christchurch, Dorset (BH23 6BB). The venue describes a Georgian manor that is part of a 700 acre estate lying between Hurn Forest and the River Stour, and says the estate is completely and exclusively yours from your arrival to the final toasts.

We photographed and filmed Faye and Sam's wedding here on 31 July 2026. This page follows it in photographs. Our Bournemouth guide, Dorset guide and Southampton guide show Parley Manor beside other venues nearby, and here we stay with the venue itself. What we say about the estate comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

For current venue details, explore Parley Manor. Ask the venue which of its ceremony settings and which bedrooms your package includes.

01 / The spaces / From the venue's own description

The Italian walled garden, the Avenue and the Pavilion

For ceremonies the venue lists three settings: the Italian Walled Wedding Garden, which it calls intimate; the Avenue, a natural setting for an outdoor ceremony; and the Pavilion, where guests can walk down the aisle. The grounds also hold a marquee in the gardens for the celebration.

The venue has seven bedrooms in the manor, with breakfast served in the dining room the next morning, and lists The House, The Wagon and The Pig Sty among the places to stay. It describes all-inclusive wedding packages, so ask what yours covers.

Faye and Sam: sage pyjamas, pastel flowers and a brick moon gate

Faye and Sam married at Parley Manor on 31 July 2026. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits: Faye in a long veil and Sam in a cream suit standing together in a round brick moon gate, the greenery of the garden behind them.

The morning is spent outdoors. Three bridesmaids in matching sage satin pyjamas laugh as they read handwritten cards on the lawn, and Faye, in her veil, hugs a bridesmaid in a blue dress among pink peonies.

The ceremony aisle runs down a white runner between rows of white chairs, with flowers at the end of each row, before the guests arrive. Later Faye and Sam kiss in front of a tall arch of pastel flowers.

In the garden they stand looking at each other beside a wooden gate with a sunlit meadow behind them, and again in a brick archway beneath a tree, the sun flaring through the leaves beside a Japanese Garden sign.

The evening happens in the marquee. At the top table a groomsman gives a speech with a microphone while the wedding party laughs beside a wall of pastel flowers, and later the dance floor fills, Sam punching the air beside a friend.

Planning your photographs at Parley Manor

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:

  1. Where the ceremony happens: With three ceremony settings to choose from, decide with the venue which suits your numbers and the season, and tell us so we can arrange the morning around it.
  2. Rain and the marquee: A marquee gives you a sheltered space in the gardens, and we agree an indoor or sheltered option for portraits and group photographs with you and the venue on the day.
  3. Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. The lawns give you room. Ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
  4. Portraits: We usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The walled garden, the moon gate and the meadow give very different backdrops within a short walk of each other.
  5. Getting ready: The manor has seven bedrooms, so you and your partner may be getting ready in different rooms or on different sides of the garden. We move between you together, splitting our time as a team, and groom preparation typically takes about 15 minutes.
