Pencoed House Estate Wedding Photographer & Videographer
A historic hall, a glasshouse and 36 acres of lawns, woodland and streams at Capel Llanilltern, Cardiff, seen through the weddings we have photographed and filmed there between 2022 and 2026.

In short: Bright Sight is Cam and Beth, a photo and video duo based near Cardiff. This page is about weddings at Pencoed House Estate in Capel Llanilltern, Cardiff, where we have photographed and filmed five weddings. Standard full-day packages start at £1,999 for photography, £1,999 for videography or £3,699 for both, with travel included and a £120 deposit to secure your date.
A historic estate that is yours alone for the day
Pencoed House Estate stands on Llantrisant Road at Capel Llanilltern, in Cardiff (CF5 6JR). Despite the name, it is not in the town of Pencoed near Bridgend. The estate says it was widely believed to have been established by a Welsh notable, Jevan ap David, in the early fifteenth century, and it describes ancient stonework, Gothic architecture and a pointed stone arch that has led some to wonder whether the place began as a small monastery.
Couples have the whole estate to themselves for the day, with 36 acres of lawns, orchards, woodland walks and streams, stone bridges and weeping willows, according to the estate. That is a lot of ground for portraits, and the photographs below use it: a blossom-covered archway, a gravel path between clipped hedges, a lawn under a heavy September sky and a woodland in May.
We are Cam and Beth, the photo and video duo behind Bright Sight. We have photographed and filmed five weddings here, from September 2022 to September 2026, and this guide follows three of them in photographs: Faye and Cam in September 2026, Amy and Dan in May 2024 and Robyn and Kris in May 2023. Three highlight films, from Amy and Dan, Robyn and Kris and Charne and Shane, sit with their weddings further down. What we say about the rooms and the grounds comes from the estate's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

01 / September 2026 / Faye and Cam
Faye and Cam: white blossom, confetti and a grey September lawn
Faye and Cam married at Pencoed House Estate in September 2026. (The groom shares a name with our Cam, so in this guide he is simply Faye's Cam.) The photograph at the top of this page shows them at a stone archway dressed in white blossom, Cam kissing Faye's cheek while she smiles and holds a pastel bouquet.
Their ceremony took place in a stone-walled hall with oak beams and a balcony, the kind of room the estate describes for its Old Hall. White blossom ran along the beams beside strings of fairy lights. In the picture below the first kiss has just happened at the end of the aisle: Cam leans in, the room is applauding and Faye's bridesmaids, in champagne satin, hold pastel bouquets.

Outside, guests lined a tree-lined gravel path and threw confetti. Faye and Cam walk through it hand in hand, laughing, and a little later they walk the gravel again between clipped hedges, Faye in an off-the-shoulder gown and veil, a stone outbuilding in the background.

The afternoon stayed grey and soft, which suits white satin and green grass. On the lawn Faye gathers her train and laughs while Cam holds the end of it, with lamp posts, a tall conifer and a stone cottage behind them. In black and white, they kiss beneath her veil.

Back in the hall for the wedding breakfast, the same blossom hangs from the beams under the fairy lights. Faye raises her bouquet and cheers as she and Cam walk in hand in hand, with guests waving napkins around them.

The Old Hall, Cwrt Clive and the Woodland Bar
The estate has two main rooms for a wedding. The Old Hall has original stone walls, oak beams, a vaulted ceiling, a log burner and a balcony that the estate suggests for musicians or speeches. The estate lists it for up to 120 guests seated and up to 200 in the evening.
Cwrt Clive is a glazed, light-filled room inspired by contemporary Italian design. Fully glazed sliding doors open onto the gardens, the floor is porcelain with underfloor heating, and a retractable roof lets the room open to the evening sky. The estate lists it for up to 140 guests seated, and says it adjoins the Old Hall and the Woodland Bar so a day can flow between them.
The Woodland Bar is a self-contained licensed bar beside the Old Hall, with stone walls, a fire and views across the woodland, and a whisky library created with Glenfarclas Distillery. Across the estate, the venue lists room for up to 220 guests for the evening. We show the hall and the grounds in our photographs; for Cwrt Clive and the Woodland Bar we are relying on the estate's description, so ask it for current numbers and layouts before you plan around them.
03 / May 2024 / Amy and Dan
Amy and Dan: dark foliage and May light in the woodland
Amy and Dan married here in May 2024, and their photographs sit in spring green. Amy carries a bouquet of dark foliage tied with black ribbons, and it stands out against her pale gown. In the first picture they laugh through a shower of confetti. In the second, in black and white, they walk hand in hand out of the stone archway, both laughing.

The room for the meal is a stone-walled hall with exposed roof timbers, set with round tables, teal runners and gold sashes on the chairs, all under fairy lights. Out among the trees, Amy laughs with a bridesmaid in a sequinned rose-gold dress.

Later on, in a room draped in white fabric with a stone wall at one side, Amy throws an arm in the air beside a neon sign while Dan crouches next to her and gives a thumbs up. It is a very different picture from the quiet archway, and part of why we like an estate with this many different corners.

Robyn and Kris married at Pencoed House Estate in May 2023. This is the one photograph from their day that we show here: Kris kisses Robyn's cheek on a gravel drive as she closes her eyes, in her long lace sleeves with a white bouquet, with hedges and overhanging trees around them.

Rooms for the night before and the night itself
The estate lists accommodation for up to 36 wedding guests on the night of the wedding, spread across the Manor House, the Gate House, the Barn Rooms, the Stable Rooms, a Cottage and a Pod, plus a Bridal Suite for the couple. The Manor House is Grade II listed. The Gate House, beside the main entrance, can also sleep up to 10 guests the night before the wedding, so your group can get ready together.
For photographs, a place to get ready on the estate means a short walk to the ceremony and no journey in your dress. Ask the estate which rooms come with your booking and how they are allocated.
Planning your photographs at Pencoed House Estate
A few things worth asking the estate, and how we would plan around the answers:
- How the room changes: the estate says the Old Hall can move from ceremony to meal to evening. Ask how long the changeover takes and where guests wait, because that gap is when we can take portraits in the grounds.
- Rain: agree an indoor or sheltered option with the estate when you confirm the order of the day. On the day we settle it together with you and the venue. Faye and Cam's overcast September afternoon shows that a grey sky still gives soft, flattering light on the lawn.
- Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Getting ready: if you and your partner are in different places, we move between you together, splitting our time as a team. Groom preparation typically takes about 15 minutes.
- The evening: the Woodland Bar sits beside the Old Hall, and Cwrt Clive's roof opens to the sky, so ask where you would like the party to be. Our evening coverage follows your booked hours.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a venue with several rooms, a hall that changes through the day and a lot of grounds is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the estate and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £300 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages.
Questions about a Pencoed House Estate wedding
Do you photograph and film weddings at Pencoed House Estate?
Yes. We have photographed and filmed five weddings at the estate between September 2022 and September 2026, in spring, early autumn and October. Send us your date and we will tell you whether we are free. Travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages.
Is Pencoed House Estate in Pencoed or in Cardiff?
In Cardiff. The estate gives its address as Llantrisant Road, Capel Llanilltern, Cardiff CF5 6JR, so it is not in the town of Pencoed near Bridgend. Our Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan guides both mention it, which is why this page has its own full story.
How many guests can the estate hold?
The estate lists up to 120 guests for a seated meal in the Old Hall and up to 140 in Cwrt Clive, with up to 200 in the Old Hall for the evening and up to 220 across the estate. Its numbers can change, so confirm them with the estate when you ask about your date.
Can guests stay on the estate?
Yes. The estate lists accommodation for up to 36 wedding guests on the night, in the Manor House, Gate House, Barn Rooms, Stable Rooms, Cottage and Pod, plus a Bridal Suite for the couple. The Gate House can sleep up to 10 guests the night before. Ask the estate which rooms come with your booking.
What happens if it rains?
The estate has the Old Hall and the glazed Cwrt Clive indoors, and we agree an indoor or sheltered option for portraits and group photographs with you and the venue on the day. Faye and Cam's grey September afternoon in this guide shows that soft, overcast light suits white satin and green lawns.
Can you work between the Old Hall and Cwrt Clive?
Yes. The estate describes the two spaces as adjoining, with the Woodland Bar beside them, so a day can move between rooms without leaving the building. Tell us your plan for the ceremony, meal and evening and we will plan around it. We have photographed and filmed in the hall and the grounds; for Cwrt Clive we rely on the estate's own description.
Can we book photography and videography together?
Yes. Our photo and video team package puts both under one booking with a £120 deposit, and it carries a £300 saving compared with booking them separately. Full-day video packages include a 7 to 10 minute highlight and a 40+ minute documentary film. See the package pages for current coverage and prices.
How much does a Pencoed House Estate wedding photographer and videographer cost?
Our standard full-day packages start at £1,999 for photography, £1,999 for videography and £3,699 for photography and videography together. Travel across England and Wales is included, so Capel Llanilltern carries no extra travel charge on the standard price. Longer packages add more coverage and extras, and the package pages show the current inclusions.
