Plas Dinam Country House is at Llandinam in Powys (SY17 5DQ), in Mid Wales. The venue describes a magnificent country mansion to make exclusively yours, with 13 acres of scenic gardens, 15 bedrooms that sleep up to 34 guests, and exclusive use of the house and grounds for at least two days.

A drawing room, a hall, the lawns and a glass-roofed courtyard

The venue's wedding page lists several places for the ceremony: the drawing room for up to 60 guests, the hall for up to 120, an outdoor ceremony at the front door arch facing the house, the sweeping back lawn for a large outdoor ceremony, a woodland clearing in the millennium wood, the glass-roofed Stables for up to 160, and St Llonio's church within walking distance. The glass-roofed courtyard seats up to 160 with an adjoining dance floor, and the evening party is included in the exclusive booking.

The venue says drinks can be your own, with no corkage. In Molly and Isobel's photographs the house gives a gabled stone front with a low wall and a winding path, a half-timbered wing at the end of a drive, and sweeping lawns with a ridge of hills behind.

Molly and Isobel: a lawn ceremony, confetti and pink smoke on the drive

Molly and Isobel married at Plas Dinam on 20 May 2025. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits: one of them in a white suit and the other in an off-the-shoulder gown and long veil, kissing on the lawn with a bouquet of anthuriums and roses between them.

The ceremony is outdoors, on the lawn: an aisle of wooden chairs, guests on either side and green hills behind as Molly and Isobel stand together at its end. Afterwards they walk arm in arm through a shower of confetti thrown by guests lining the gravel path in front of the stone house.

On the lawn one of the brides, in a veil and headband, smiles as she carries a small child in a pale pink dress, a bouquet of pink and red flowers in her hand. The two of them walk along the grass with a ridge of hills behind them and embrace in front of the gabled house, a low stone wall and a winding path before them.

On the gravel path they laugh as champagne sprays from a bottle, one of them raising a bouquet, and on the drive they walk past a half-timbered wing of the house with pink smoke billowing behind them.

Fifteen bedrooms, a lodge and bell tents

The venue says the house has 15 bedrooms sleeping up to 34 guests, with two nights' accommodation included for 34 guests, a Lodge with three more bedrooms, a Chauffeurs Loft with two, and bell tents in summer. It also says evening guests cost extra when numbers go over 120. Ask for the current terms in writing.

Planning your photographs at Plas Dinam Country House

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:

1. Ceremony space: Indoors in the drawing room or hall, outside on the lawn or in the woodland clearing. Tell us your choice so we can plan the morning around it.
2. Your two days: Exclusive use covers at least two days. Tell us your timings once you have agreed them with the venue and we will plan the portrait walk around the light.
3. Rain: Agree an indoor or sheltered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, and we settle it together on the day.
4. Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
5. Portraits: We usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The lawns, the stone front of the house and the drive give you very different backdrops.

One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a country mansion with sweeping lawns, a woodland clearing and a glass-roofed courtyard is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.

The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
