A family farm on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast
Rosedew Farm is near Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan. The venue says it is fully licensed to hold civil ceremonies on site, with exclusive access to a private clifftop and secret walled gardens, and with accommodation on site for up to 80 guests.
We photographed Morgan and Kate's wedding here on 24 May 2025, and their day is told in the photographs on this page, opened by the two of them on the shore. Our Vale of Glamorgan guide and Cardiff guide show Rosedew beside other venues nearby; here we stay with the farm itself. What we say about the buildings and the grounds comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

The barn, the Cwtch and the clifftop
The venue's wedding page says guests gather at the Barn, and that arrival is allowed from up to an hour before the ceremony. The Cwtch has a bar open for welcome drinks. Weddings can have a live band or a DJ, LED lighting and a licensed bar until the early hours, and the page does not state a formal curfew, so ask the venue for the current times.
The page offers exclusive access to a private clifftop and secret walled gardens, and says couples can hold a civil ceremony on site or use local churches. In Morgan and Kate's photographs the ceremony room has stone walls, tall arched windows and white drapes across the beams, and the stone barn has two arched windows on a gravel forecourt.
02 / May 2025 / Morgan and Kate
Morgan and Kate: a floral arch, a rocky shore and sparklers on the steps
Morgan and Kate married at Rosedew Farm on 24 May 2025. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits: Morgan in a beige suit twirling Kate in her long veil on a wet rocky shore, with the sea and a grey sky behind them.
Back at the farm, Morgan, in glasses and a beige three-piece suit, and Kate, in a lace-bodice gown with a pink and white rose bouquet, smile at each other in front of an ivy-covered stone wall and a big timber-framed window. In front of the stone barn, Kate laughs with a bridesmaid in a long pink dress.

Before the ceremony the room waits: stone walls, tall arched windows, white drapes across the beams and an arch of pink and white flowers at the end of a white aisle. In a quieter moment beside a large window, an older woman in a pale pink cardigan and a navy fascinator fastens a bracelet on Kate's wrist.

Morgan signs the register in his glasses and beige suit while Kate smiles beside him, and later the two of them come down the stone steps, laughing, between guests holding sparklers, with a glass-fronted building hung with lights behind.

03 / Staying at Rosedew / From the venue's own description
Barns, lodges and a yard
The venue lists four places to stay: Farmers Barns, five furnished cottages around the barn sleeping up to 20; Farmers Lodges, six self-catered lodges about a 300-metre walk from the cottages and barn, sleeping up to 29; Farmers Yard, six hotel-style rooms near the Acorn Campsite; and the Acorn Campsite itself. It says the accommodation sleeps up to 80 guests on site.
For photographs, a cottage on the farm keeps the morning calm, with hair, make-up and flowers a short walk from the ceremony. Ask which accommodation comes with your booking, and we will plan the morning around it.
Planning your photographs at Rosedew Farm
A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Ceremony: A civil ceremony on site, or a blessing or humanist ceremony. Tell us your plan so we can arrange the morning around it.
- The clifftop and the shore: The private clifftop, the walled gardens and the shore close by give very different portraits. We check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you before the day.
- Rain: Agree a sheltered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, and we settle it together on the day.
- Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: We usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The walled gardens, the barn forecourt and the shore give you very different backdrops.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a stone barn, a farm forecourt and a clifftop is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
