Shanice and Russel: an ivy wall, a garden walk and champagne on the lawn

Shanice and Russel married on 8 September 2022. The photograph at the top of this page is the two of them close together, Russel kissing Shanice on the cheek while she holds a bouquet of dried grasses and white flowers. The morning is calm, with Russel looking out of a tall sash window in a bright room.

Later the two of them stand against an old brick wall under climbing ivy, then walk arm in arm through the gardens, laughing, with the tiled roof of the house among the trees.

Out on the lawn, Shanice, in white heart-shaped sunglasses, sprays champagne into the air while Russel stands beside her with a bottle of his own.

Planning your photographs at That Amazing Place

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:

  1. Which ceremony setting: the Lakeview Lounge, the Hall, the Marquee or the lakeside Gazebo. Tell us your plan so we can arrange the morning around it.
  2. Getting ready: ask when the Honeymoon Cottage and the Wedding Lodge are yours, since that is where the first photographs happen.
  3. Rain: agree an indoor option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day. The Hall and the Lakeview Lounge are the indoor ceremony rooms the venue lists.
  4. Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. The venue allows white biodegradable petal confetti in the garden and grounds, so plan it together with the group photographs.
  5. Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The old brick walls, the lawns and the lake give you very different backdrops. In September we check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you.

One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth, the Bright Sight photo and video duo

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so an old manor house with walled gardens, a lake and a marquee is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.

The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
