A red brick stable building in the Suffolk countryside
The Stables is at Tannington Hall, The Green, Tannington, Woodbridge, Suffolk (IP13 7NH). The venue's own website describes a flexible wedding and private-events venue in the Suffolk countryside: a red-brick building with original stable character and timber doors, two acres of garden and countryside for photographs, and a rustic style that is not themed. The website shows the name as The Stables at Tannington, and the venue was formerly known as The Stables at Tannington Hall.
We photographed Leah and Allan's wedding here on 21 August 2021, and their day is the one in this guide: a seat on a weathered stone bench, vows beside timber boards, a confetti kiss, portraits at the barn doors and on the gravel drive, and a quiet moment under a willow. Our Suffolk guide shows more weddings in the county, and here we stay with the venue. What we say about the building comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.
For current venue details, explore The Stables. This wedding was in August 2021, so ask the venue about any changes to the building, the garden and its listed suppliers since then.

The red brick building, the garden and the kitchen
The venue's website says The Stables can host up to 200 people, with the best number depending on the kind of event. It describes a red-brick building with an upstairs seating area, an on-site kitchen for the caterer you choose, a dedicated bar area, a full PA system, toilets with baby-changing facilities and a stone seating area and benches outdoors in the summer months.
It also lists two acres of garden and countryside for photographs and a large car park two minutes' walk away where cars can be left overnight, and says it is not tied to any particular supplier. Its pages do not set out ceremony options or a licence, accommodation, finishing times or prices, so ask the venue for each in writing.
02 / August 2021 / Leah and Allan
Leah and Allan: a stone bench, a confetti kiss and a dip on the drive
Leah and Allan married on 21 August 2021. The photograph at the top of this page shows them kissing in a shower of confetti, Allan in a grey waistcoat and Leah in a lace gown, with their guests cheering around them and arms raised.
Earlier, in the open air, they sit hand in hand on a weathered stone bench among climbing plants and hollyhocks, Leah in her long veil and Allan with a small flower on his waistcoat. Then they stand facing each other before old timber boards, Allan reading from a small card as Leah listens.

Their portraits begin in front of the red brick building. Leah and Allan stand hand in hand at its big timber doors, framed by ivy, arched windows and a clock in the gable, with a gravel drive and planters of flowers in front.

Next they walk a grass path between low, mossy brick walls, Leah holding a small bouquet. In the second portrait they stand with their arms around each other against the timber boards, smiling and looking at one another.

On the gravel drive beside a post and rail fence, Allan holds Leah's hands as she leans right back in a playful dip, and, to finish, they stand forehead to forehead under the trailing branches of a willow.

Planning your photographs at The Stables
A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Ceremony: The venue's pages do not list ceremony options or a licence. Ask what it offers, where a ceremony can happen on the site and what the plan is if the weather turns.
- The building: The red brick, the timber doors and the ivy gave Leah and Allan a strong backdrop. Ask which areas are free to use for portraits and at what times, so we can build the afternoon around them.
- Confetti: The confetti kiss made the photograph we open this page with. Ask the venue what it allows, so you know which kind to buy.
- Getting ready: The website does not mention accommodation or a getting-ready room. Ask where you can prepare on the morning, and when you can have access.
- Garden light: The gravel drive, the brick-walled path and the willow all sit away from the main doors. We look up sunset times for your date and agree a portrait plan with you before the day.
- Groups and portraits: Group photographs take about 20 minutes for the 15 or so combinations we usually suggest, and a short portrait walk of about 15 minutes with photo and video together fits into most timetables. A friend who knows the guests will speed things up.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a red brick stable building, a gravel drive and a willow-shaded corner are all familiar ground. One booking gives you one conversation about the timetable and one shared plan for the portraits and the film.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
