An 18th-century mansion in 163 acres
Addington Palace is on Gravel Hill at Addington, Croydon (CR0 5BB). The venue describes an 18th-century mansion set in 163 acres, about 30 minutes from Central London, with exclusive use of the palace and grounds. Its own address line says Surrey, and its pages also call it a wedding venue in London.
We photographed and filmed Tobenna and Sapphire's wedding here on 21 May 2026. It is the day in this guide, and it takes in a church aisle, the pale front of the palace across a lawn and a very lively evening.

01 / May 2026 / Tobenna and Sapphire
Tobenna and Sapphire: a church aisle, rings in the sun and a lively evening
Tobenna and Sapphire married on 21 May 2026. The photograph at the top of this page is the two of them walking down the aisle of a church, smiling at each other, between wooden pews and white flowers with a stained glass window ahead. The morning begins with Tobenna in black and white, in a white dinner jacket and bow tie, looking up and away beside a bright window.

On the lawn in front of the palace, Tobenna and Sapphire stand in the middle of their wedding party, bridesmaids in champagne dresses and groomsmen in black, all raising their bouquets. It shows how much room the lawn gives a big group.

Then it is just the two of them on the grass, Sapphire's very long train spread behind her in the low sun.

The evening is loud and happy. Tobenna dances in the middle of a crowd of guests holding up phones and banknotes, and women in green dresses and headwraps come into a dark hall with large red and gold fans.

The Great Hall, the Winter Garden and the South Lawn
The venue's pages name two licensed ceremony rooms: the Winter Garden, a smaller, light-filled room, and the Great Hall, with an Italian marble fireplace, a French chandelier and walnut panelling. They say the palace is licensed for ceremonies of up to 200 guests, and that religious ceremonies and blessings are also permitted. The South Lawn can be used for outdoor ceremonies, drinks and a children's play area.
For dining, the venue says the Great Hall seats 150, or 300 with the adjoining Music Room and Dining Room. The Empire Room and the Wellington Room are suggested for getting ready, and the Morning Room, the Stairwell and the Library for winter drinks. The venue also mentions a firework display on the South Lawn as an evening finale.
03 / Staying at Addington Palace / From the venue's own pages
Rooms and cottages on the estate
The venue lists accommodation for up to 48 guests, including a Honeymoon Suite and two more bedrooms in the palace, Longley House and several self-catering cottages and houses on the estate. Its wedding page speaks of five self-catering cottages, while its accommodation page says 9 bedrooms in total, so confirm with the venue what comes with your booking.
Planning your photographs at Addington Palace
A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Where the ceremony is: the Great Hall, the Winter Garden, the South Lawn, or a church or register office nearby. Tell us the addresses and times so we can plan the morning and the travel around them.
- Getting ready: ask which room you will have on the morning. The venue suggests the Empire Room and the Wellington Room.
- Rain: agree an indoor option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day. The venue names the Morning Room, the Stairwell and the Library as winter drinks spaces.
- Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. The South Lawn has room for a big line-up. Ask someone who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The lawn and the palace front give you a simple, open backdrop. In May we check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a grand mansion with a big lawn and a church ceremony before it is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
