A family-run barn venue around a courtyard
Dodmoor House is on Weedon Lane in Dodford, near Weedon in Northamptonshire (NN7 4TA). The venue calls itself an exclusive-use, family-run countryside barn venue, centred around three Grade II listed barns with a courtyard at their heart, and says it celebrated 20 years of weddings in 2026.
We have photographed and filmed three weddings here, in April 2023, December 2024 and July 2025. This page follows two of them in photographs: Serena and Josh in July 2025 and Charlotte and Jack in December 2024, whose highlight film is below. Our Northamptonshire guide shows the barns beside other venues in the county, and here we stay with the venue itself. What we say about the buildings comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.
For current venue details, explore Dodmoor House. Dodmoor House is a different venue from Dodford Manor, which has its own guide.

The barns, the courtyard and the lawn
The venue offers an indoor ceremony beneath the oak beams or an outdoor one surrounded by the Northamptonshire countryside. Catesby Barn is the wedding breakfast room, which the venue says can be set with long banquet tables, round tables or a mix of both, and it is also where the evening happens, with a dance floor and a second bar. The Courtyard Barn is used for the drinks reception and as an early evening bar in the cosier months, with gazebos and patio heaters outside.
Between the ceremony and the meal, guests gather in the courtyard and on the lawn for drinks, music, garden games and photographs, especially in summer, and the venue says the couple can slip away during dinner for portraits around the grounds. For getting ready it lists two rooms, the Farmhouse Suite and the Dodford Room, and there is a Honeymoon Suite on site. The venue says up to 100 guests can sit down by day and 180 can join in the evening, and that dogs are welcome.
02 / July 2025 / Serena and Josh
Serena and Josh: gold satin, a beamed barn and a courtyard welcome
Serena and Josh married at Dodmoor House on 18 July 2025, a date printed on their stationery in the first photograph of the morning, laid out beside white bow-trimmed sandals and earrings in the window light. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits on the gravel path beside the house, Josh kissing Serena's cheek while she smiles. In black and white, Serena stands in a high room with beams and a brick arch hung with white curtains while someone behind her adjusts the back of the dress.

One photograph shows a barn with exposed oak roof beams, brick arched windows and a flagstone floor, set for the ceremony with rows of wooden cross-back chairs and a small table of flowers at the front. In the same room, two men in white shirts and braces check each other's collars before the guests arrive.

Serena walks down the aisle on the arm of a man in a blue suit, between rows of smiling guests, with the groom's back in the foreground.

The bridesmaids wear gold satin and carry pink and orange bouquets. They stand with Serena in front of the white curtains of the brick-arched room, and again outside on a paved path in the grounds, laughing in a row with trees and a stone building behind them.

Josh and Serena arrive into the courtyard with their arms in the air, guests already seated at tables ahead of them and a patio heater standing by the brick wall. The evening ends with a dip on the dance floor, the room lit pink and the guests cheering around them.

03 / December 2024 / Charlotte and Jack
Charlotte and Jack: green tweed, a doorway and a winter courtyard
Charlotte and Jack married here on 5 December 2024. Jack, in a green tweed jacket, adjusts his tie beside a window with a broad smile before the ceremony.

In the next photograph a man in a tweed suit smiles in a doorway while Charlotte, in a lace gown with a buttoned back, waits with her back to him. Inside the barn, Charlotte and Jack laugh together under the brick arches while seated guests look on.

The last photograph from their day is a kiss in the courtyard, Charlotte holding a bouquet of white roses, with a stone house behind them.

Charlotte and Jack at Dodmoor House: their December 2024 highlight
Charlotte and Jack’s highlight film retells their December 2024 wedding at Dodmoor House, from the first moments of the day to the evening, around the photographs above. Watch it to see and hear the barns and the courtyard in winter, then ask the venue which of its ceremony spaces suit your numbers.

Watch their highlight on YouTubeJuly or December at the same barns
The two weddings show how differently the venue works across the year. In July the courtyard and the lawn carry the day: drinks outside, bridesmaids in the garden, an arrival with arms in the air. In December the day moves into the barns, which the venue says are candlelit for winter weddings, and the Courtyard Barn takes on the early evening bar.
If you are marrying in winter, daylight is short and we keep outdoor photographs close to the indoors, straight from the ceremony. We check sunset and light times for your date in advance, and agree the plan with you before the day.

A Honeymoon Suite and hotel partnerships
The venue has an on-site Honeymoon Suite, with breakfast included the next morning, and says it has hotel partnerships for guests, with transport included. It does not list further bedrooms on site, so ask which hotels it works with and how guests get back at the end of the night.
For photographs, ask which of the getting-ready rooms you can use and when, so we can plan the morning around where each of you is getting ready.
Planning your photographs at Dodmoor House
A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Indoor or outdoor ceremony: the venue offers both, so decide with it which suits your numbers and the season, and tell us so we can arrange the morning around it.
- Rain: agree an indoor or sheltered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day. On the day we settle it together with you and the venue.
- Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together, and the lawn, the courtyard and the gravel paths give you very different backdrops.
- Getting ready: if you and your partner are in different places, we move between you together, splitting our time as a team. Groom preparation typically takes about 15 minutes.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a venue of connected barns, a courtyard and a lawn is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £300 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.

The venue says it offers both: indoors beneath the oak beams, or outdoors surrounded by the Northamptonshire countryside. Ask the venue which suits your numbers and the time of year.
