A National Trust hall and barn near Keighley
East Riddlesden Hall is a National Trust property on Bradford Road at Riddlesden, Keighley (BD20 5EL). The Trust describes a 17th-century manor house that two brothers stepped in to save from demolition in the 1930s, and its wedding page calls it a historic hall and barn wedding venue, with intimate gardens and the historic house reflected in the pond. It says the Airedale Barn is set in grounds and gardens cared for by the National Trust.
We photographed and filmed Millie and Mitch's wedding here on 14 June 2025. Theirs is the wedding in this guide, and it takes in the barn, the water and a stone arch in the gardens.

01 / June 2025 / Millie and Mitch
Millie and Mitch: a beamed aisle, confetti and a lakeside deck
Millie and Mitch married on 14 June 2025. The photograph at the top of this page is the two of them walking hand in hand and laughing through a shower of confetti, out of a stone barn lit by fairy lights, Mitch in a dark green suit and Millie in a white gown.
Millie has her make-up done in a white feathered robe in a softly lit room, and later stands on a balcony with a white rail beside a lake and willow trees, in a floral crown and veil, holding a bouquet of warm-toned roses.

In black and white, six men in black tuxedos laugh together on a wooden deck in front of the willows and the water.

Millie walks down the aisle on the arm of an older man in a dark suit, beneath timber beams hung with greenery, while guests smile on either side.

By the lake, Millie and her bridesmaids in sage green dresses throw their bouquets up in the air. In the gardens, Mitch kisses Millie on the cheek in front of a stone arch.

The Airedale Barn, the Great Hall and what is on hire
The National Trust's wedding page names the Airedale Barn, which it says can seat up to 160 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, or 250 standing, with underfloor heating and fairy lights. It names the Great Hall, which it says has about 400 years of history, warm stone walls and a grand fireplace, and can seat up to 30 guests for a small ceremony.
The Trust's visitor page lists the property as licensed for civil weddings and says the Airedale Barn, the gardens and the lower fields are available for hire. It does not say which rooms hold the licence, so ask whether a ceremony in the barn or in the Great Hall is covered by it.
Catering partners are named for anything from street food to a formal dinner, and the supplier list covers more than 20 evening acts, from brass bands and ceilidh bands to photo booths, accordion players and crazy golf. The page also offers help planning a small or secret wedding with witnesses and photography, and says wedding fees go towards conservation at the property.
A venue hire price list and a brochure are linked from the wedding page, and the wedding team has its own email address for prices, availability and viewings. The pages do not state exclusive use, finish times, music limits or on-site accommodation, so ask the team for those in writing.
03 / Getting there / From the National Trust's pages
Parking, trains and the bus
The Trust's visitor page puts the property on the south side of Bradford Road in Riddlesden, close to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, and says to follow the signs for the A629 relief road from Shipley and Skipton. Parking is free on site, with two 22kW electric vehicle chargers serving four bays and blue badge spaces in the main car park. The car park is narrow in places with overhanging branches and is not suitable for campervans or caravans, and the page gives the main gates and car park as closing at 4.30pm daily. That is the visitor information, so ask the wedding team how it works for guests and suppliers arriving or leaving later in the day.
Without a car, Keighley station is 1.5 miles away (about a 25 minute walk) and Crossflatts station is 2.2 miles away (about 50 minutes on foot). The Shuttle 662 bus, run by Transdev, runs regularly between Bradford, Shipley, Saltaire, Bingley, Riddlesden and Keighley, and stops at Bradford Road West Lea Road.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Which room: the Airedale Barn (up to 160 seated) or the smaller Great Hall (up to 30). The Great Hall gives you stone walls and a fireplace, and the barn gives you timber beams and fairy lights, as in Millie and Mitch's photographs. Tell us your plan so we can arrange the day around it.
- Getting ready: the pages do not say where you can get ready on site, so ask the wedding team, and from what time, since that is where the first photographs happen.
- Group photographs: the gardens and the lower fields are both listed as available for hire, so ask whether your hire includes the lower fields if you want plenty of room for a big group. We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes.
- Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The Trust mentions the house reflected in the pond, and in Millie and Mitch's photographs the balcony and deck by the lake, the paved path and the stone arch gave very different backdrops from the barn. In June, we check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you.
- Arrivals: the visitor car park is listed as closing at 4.30pm daily, so ask how that works on a wedding day for guests, suppliers and anyone arriving for the evening.
- Rain: agree an indoor option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day. The barn, which has underfloor heating, and the Great Hall are the indoor spaces the venue lists.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a stone barn with gardens and water close by is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
