01 / April 2026 / Chloe and Christian

Chloe and Christian: a flower-lined bridge, a pond and fireworks

Chloe and Christian married on 2 April 2026. The photograph at the top of this page is the two of them walking back down the aisle beneath a timber canopy hung with fairy lights, Chloe with her bouquet raised. The morning starts in a bright room, where Chloe glances over her shoulder in a lace-edged veil, and Christian adjusts his bow tie beside a tall sash window while a groomsman straightens his collar.

03 / The spaces / From the venue's own page

The Elizabeth Suite, the Derwent Suite and the grounds

The venue's wedding page names the Elizabeth Suite, an indoor ceremony room for up to 120 guests with natural light and views over the grounds, which can also be the wedding breakfast room and the evening party space. It names the Derwent Suite as a smaller, brighter room for up to 60 guests, suited to a more intimate ceremony.

There is also a Getting Ready Room with hair and make-up stations, a Lounge Bar with views over the grounds for indoor drinks, and a Honeymoon Suite with a freestanding bath and an en suite that the venue says is included in all wedding packages. The page does not give a ceremony licence, so ask the venue about it.

Planning your photographs at Hackness Grange

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:

  1. Which ceremony room: the Elizabeth Suite or the smaller Derwent Suite, or outdoors if the venue offers it for your date. Tell us your plan so we can arrange the morning around it.
  2. Getting ready: ask when the Getting Ready Room and the Honeymoon Suite are yours on the morning, since that is where the first photographs happen.
  3. Rain: agree an indoor option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day. The Lounge Bar and the suites give you indoor choices for drinks and group photographs.
  4. Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup.
  5. Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The lawn, the pond, the staircase and the grounds give you very different backdrops. In April or August, we check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you.
