A working vineyard in the Vale of Glamorgan
Llanerch Vineyard is at Hensol in the Vale of Glamorgan (CF72 8GG). The venue describes itself as a working vineyard and boutique hotel set within a 22-acre vineyard with panoramic countryside views, and says the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebration can all take place on site, with wines produced on the estate.
We have worked on a wedding here in 2025: Bethan and James, whose day is told in the photographs on this page, opened by the two of them in the vines. Our Vale of Glamorgan guide and Cardiff guide show Llanerch beside other venues nearby; here we stay with the vineyard itself. What we say about the buildings and the grounds comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

01 / The spaces / From the venue's own description
Calon Lodge, the Woodland Marquee and the vineyard
The venue names two main spaces for weddings. The Calon Lodge suits intimate celebrations, and its venue-hire page gives 30 to 80 guests. The Woodland Marquee, listed as the Woodland Venue on that page, is for larger gatherings of 50 to 200 guests. The venue says weddings can be as intimate as a small ceremony or as large as 200 guests.
Outside there is a terrace, the vineyard itself and a woodland walk. In Bethan and James's photographs the vineyard gives long avenues of grass between green vines with a line of tall poplars behind, and the woodland gives soft low sun through ferns.
02 / 2025 / Bethan and James
Bethan and James: a groom in tears, bridesmaids in champagne and a kiss among the vines
The photograph at the top of this page shows Bethan and James in the vineyard: Bethan in a white gown with a long veil and a bouquet of white flowers, James in a black suit kissing her forehead in a grass avenue between rows of green vines.
Earlier, James wipes away a tear beside an arrangement of white flowers in a bright, timber-lined room under fairy lights, and in the vines Bethan stands among five bridesmaids in champagne dresses, all of them laughing, holding white bouquets with long ribbons.

In the woodland the low sun flares through the trees as Bethan and James stand among the ferns.

Rooms on site
The venue says guests can stay on site and have breakfast the next morning, and lists Countryside Superiors, Countryside Suites, Courtyard Rooms, Standard Doubles, Accessible Rooms, Dog-Friendly Rooms and Family Rooms. It also says Saturdays and summer weekends book well in advance and recommends booking a viewing early.
For photographs, a room on site keeps the morning calm, with hair, make-up and flowers close to the ceremony. Ask which rooms come with your booking and when you can have them, and we will plan the morning around it.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Ceremony space: The Calon Lodge for smaller weddings or the Woodland Marquee for larger ones. Tell us your choice so we can plan the morning around it.
- Light in the vines: The vineyard and woodland are open ground, so the time of day matters. We check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the portrait plan with you before the day.
- Rain: Agree a sheltered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, and we settle it together on the day.
- Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: We usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The vine avenues, the woodland and the terrace give you very different backdrops.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a vineyard with a lodge, a marquee and a woodland walk is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
