In short: Bright Sight is Cam and Beth, a photo and video duo based near Cardiff. This page is about weddings at Ocean View Gower on the north Gower coast near Swansea, where we photographed a wedding in October 2021. Standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography or £3,799 for both, with travel included and a £120 deposit to secure your date.

A farm venue above the north Gower coast

Ocean View Gower is at Windmill Farm on the Gower peninsula in South Wales (SA3 1HB). Its own website describes paddocks and rolling fields with views over the North Gower hills and coast, and its wedding package page lists a ceremony set up in the old milking parlour, heated marquees with a large bar lounge, a dedicated coordinator team and exclusive use of the venue on your day.

We photographed Martine and Jim's wedding here on 4 October 2021, and their day is the one in this guide: a ceremony in a high room with timber beams and fairy lights, a ride in a campervan, portraits at a ruined castle above the estuary and a first dance in front of tall light-up letters. Our Swansea and Gower guide shows more weddings in the area, and here we stay with this venue. What we say about the venue comes from its own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

For current venue details, explore Ocean View Gower. Our photographs are from October 2021, so ask the venue to show you the spaces as they stand now and to confirm what your package includes.

01 / The spaces / From the venue's own description

The milking parlour, the marquees and the standing stone

The venue's 2025 package page lists a ceremony set up in the old milking parlour, heated marquees with a large bar lounge, exclusive access to a nearby megalithic standing stone and the venue to yourselves on your day. Its accommodation page describes a retreat for two called Paddock Haven, with a patio over the old mill pond, and cottages in the stables and barns, each with one double and one twin bedroom.

It also lists five suite huts for guests, three double pods and two double suite huts, each with its own shower room. The pages we read give no guest capacity, no ceremony licence details and no finishing time, so ask for all three in writing, along with the current price of your date.

02 / October 2021 / Martine and Jim

Martine and Jim: a beamed ceremony, a campervan and a ruined castle

Martine and Jim married on 4 October 2021. The photograph at the top of this page shows them kissing in front of an old wooden gate set in a stone arch, Martine in a lace gown with a long veil and an orange autumn bouquet, Jim in a navy suit.

Their ceremony took place in a high room with pale walls, tall windows, exposed timber beams and strings of fairy lights, their guests seated close around them. In the first photograph Jim kisses Martine as the room smiles and claps. Afterwards, at a wooden table with a spray of burgundy, orange and white flowers in front of a white draped arch, Martine signs the register while Jim leans over her, smiling.

After the ceremony the two of them climbed into a campervan, its ceiling covered in peace signs, flowers and smiley faces. Martine has a flower in her hair and her bouquet in her lap, and the pair look at each other and laugh.

Their portraits took them to a ruined castle on the coast. On the grass above a wide estuary, Martine's veil blows out beside Jim as they walk towards the view under a big sky, the old stone wall to one side.

Seen from behind on a grassy hillside, a bride in a long gown and veil walks beside her groom in a navy suit towards a view over a wide estuary, with the stone wall of a ruined castle on the right under a big blue sky and clouds

Then they stand hand in hand in front of a rough stone archway in the castle wall, a wooden gate and a cobbled path behind them.

In the evening reception room, with its draped walls, a pale wooden dance floor and tall white light-up letters, a guest in a navy waistcoat throws his hands up and pulls a face for the camera. Later Martine and Jim take the floor for their first dance, Martine's arm around Jim's shoulders, coloured disco lights sweeping the drapes behind them.

Planning your photographs at Ocean View Gower

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:

  1. Ceremony room: Martine and Jim's ceremony was in a high room with timber beams and tall windows, which gave soft daylight. Ask the venue which room your ceremony would use, how many guests it seats and what time of day suits it best.
  2. The register: A white draped arch and a wooden table made a tidy backdrop for signing. Ask where the register is signed and whether it can stay by a window, so we can plan the light before the day.
  3. Going further afield: Their castle portraits meant a short trip away from the venue. Ask the venue how long the drive takes, who manages any site you want to visit, whether photography is allowed and whether there are opening times, then allow for the travel in your timetable.
  4. Evening and the first dance: The reception room had a pale wooden floor and strong coloured lights, which made the first dance lively. Tell your DJ or band where the first dance will be and we will plan around it, and ask the venue about finishing times.
  5. Group photographs: Choose as many as you like, though we usually suggest around 15, which take about 20 minutes. Pick a spot with space and a covered back-up, and ask someone who knows everyone to gather people.
  6. Portraits: We usually plan a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. Between the fields, the old farm buildings and the coast views here, you have plenty of different backdrops to choose from.

One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth, the Bright Sight photo and video duo

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a farm venue, a ceremony under timber beams and a trip to a coastal castle are all familiar ground. You have one conversation about the timetable, one list of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.

The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.

Questions about a Ocean View Gower wedding

Do you photograph and film weddings at Ocean View Gower?

Yes. We photographed a wedding at Ocean View Gower in October 2021. Send us your date and we will tell you whether we are free. Travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages.

Where is Ocean View Gower?

At Windmill Farm on the Gower peninsula, near Swansea in South Wales (SA3 1HB). Our Swansea and Gower guide shows more weddings in the area, and this page gives the venue a full story of its own.

Where can the ceremony be held?

The venue's 2025 package page lists a ceremony set up in the old milking parlour, and says the package gives exclusive access to a nearby megalithic standing stone. Martine and Jim's ceremony was in a high room with timber beams and fairy lights. Ask the venue about licensing and its wet-weather plan.

How many guests can Ocean View Gower hold?

The pages we read do not give a maximum capacity. The 2025 package page prices the day for 70 guests, with more day and evening guests available per person. Ask the venue for the current figures in writing when you enquire.

Can guests stay at the venue?

The venue lists Paddock Haven, a retreat for two, cottages in the stables and barns with one double and one twin bedroom, and five suite huts with en-suite showers. Ask which ones come with your date and how the morning after works.

Can we have portraits away from the venue?

Martine and Jim had portraits at a ruined castle on the coast. Ask the venue how long the drive takes, whether the site you have in mind allows wedding photography and when it is open, then build the travel into your timetable.

What happens if it rains?

The venue lists heated marquees and a large bar lounge, so there is shelter for the reception. Agree a covered or indoor option with the venue for portraits and group photographs, and on the day we settle it with you and the venue.

Can we book photography and videography together?

Yes. Our photo and video team package puts both under one booking with a £120 deposit, and it carries a £400 saving compared with booking them separately. See the package pages for current coverage and prices.

How much does a Ocean View Gower wedding photographer and videographer cost?

Our standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography and £3,799 for photography and videography together. Standard full-day packages already cover our travel across England and Wales, so a day on Gower carries no extra travel charge on the standard price. Longer packages add more coverage and extras, and the package pages show the current inclusions.
