01 / September 2025 / Carly and James
Carly and James: a garden aisle, a white runner and a lawn with willows
Carly and James married on 5 September 2025. The photograph at the top of this page is the two of them kissing on the lawn, Carly in a lace gown with a long train, with a garden pavilion and weeping willows behind them. Before the ceremony a man in a cream suit and blue tie stands beside a window with a teal curtain, looking out, one hand on his jacket.

The ceremony is outdoors on the lawn. Carly walks down a white aisle runner on the arm of a man in a cream suit, between seated guests with trees behind them, and at the end of the aisle Carly and James kiss as guests applaud, with glass lanterns along the runner and a gabled building behind.

The Garden Room, the Bignell Suite and the gardens
The venue's weddings page says it is licensed for indoor and garden ceremonies, and describes the Garden Room as light-filled and glass-walled with direct access to the gardens, suited to ceremonies, dinners or dancing. It also names the Bignell Suite, a large space for formal dinners and big receptions, and the Embassy, a smaller space for private dining and cocktail evenings.
The page says there is space for up to 350 guests, while its dry-hire and exclusive-hire packages are capped at 300, so confirm the number with the venue. Its gardens are described as manicured lawns and borders that can be used for ceremonies, lawn games and canapé receptions, available for the full day under the larger packages.

Boutique rooms and a bridal suite
The venue offers boutique accommodation. It says its exclusive-hire package includes 18 en-suite bedrooms with breakfast, and that every package includes a complimentary bridal suite for the day. The site does not give a total bedroom count, so ask the venue which rooms come with your booking.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Where the ceremony is: in the Garden Room, outdoors on the lawn or elsewhere in the gardens. Tell us your plan so we can arrange the morning around it.
- Getting ready: ask when the bridal suite and your bedrooms are yours on the morning, since that is where the first photographs happen.
- Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. The lawn gives you room, so pick a spot with a sheltered backup and ask someone who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The lawn, the pavilion and the weeping willows give you a calm backdrop. In September, we check sunset and light times for your date in advance and agree the plan with you.
- Rain: agree an indoor option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day. The Garden Room is glass-walled with direct access to the gardens, so it keeps you close to the lawn.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a boutique hotel with a wide lawn, a pavilion and a glass-walled room is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
