We photographed and filmed Dan and Alicia there in July 2021. Standard full-day packages start at £2,099 for photography, £2,099 for videography or £3,799 for both, with travel included and a £120 deposit to secure your date.
A restored 17th-century stone barn on the edge of Tetbury
The Great Tythe Barn is at Folly Farm, Long Newnton, Tetbury, Gloucestershire (GL8 8XA). The venue's own site calls it a beautifully restored 17th-century barn in the heart of the Cotswolds, built to receive and store the farming community's contribution to the church. It says the barn is Grade II listed and that the venue has hosted events for more than 30 years as a family business. Its guest guide puts it less than half a mile from Tetbury, and its directions page says the town centre is about a 10-minute walk, beside Tetbury Hospital.
We photographed and filmed Dan and Alicia's wedding here on 4 July 2021. Their day is told in photographs below, and the highlight film plays further down the page. This is a different place from the other Tetbury venues you may be comparing, so check the name and address when you search.

Dan and Alicia: a stone-walled ceremony room, confetti at the door and a canopy of fairy lights
We photographed and filmed Dan and Alicia's wedding at The Great Tythe Barn on 4 July 2021. The photograph at the top of this page shows the two of them on an upper level of the barn, holding hands and smiling at each other, Dan in a grey suit and Alicia in a lace gown with a long train and a veil, with a railing strung with fairy lights and timber roof beams behind them. The highlight film plays further down the page.
In a stone-walled room, Dan and Alicia kiss as their guests watch and applaud, with children in pale dresses smiling from the seats on the left.

At a wooden table in front of a wall of coloured ribbons and fairy lights, Alicia smiles with her eyes closed as a man in a dark jacket leans down to kiss her cheek, while a man in a grey waistcoat sits beside her. Afterwards the two of them stand in front of the hanging flowers and raise their joined hands, Alicia holding a pink and white bouquet.

Then they walk out hand in hand in front of a glass doorway while guests throw confetti, Dan in a grey three-piece suit laughing and Alicia smiling beside him.

Back inside, they share a kiss at a railing hung with fairy lights, with a tall curtain of lights in front of the stone wall. Seen through a hanging canopy of fairy lights, the two of them stand close together under a carved coat of arms, with a garland of flowers along the railing below.

Later, under a white canopy, three small long-haired dogs sit on a fleece-covered table while a child reaches out to stroke one. Then Dan and Alicia hold each other close with their eyes closed, with guests standing and watching behind them.

02 / The spaces / From the venue's own pages
The stone barn, the Orangery and the Wedding Pavilion
The venue's wedding page says it has seven licensed ceremony options, four indoor barn areas and three outdoor areas. It names the oak Wedding Pavilion for outdoor vows and the Orangery at Tythe House. The main 17th-century stone barn seats up to 200 for the wedding breakfast, with evening celebrations for up to 350, and the venue's FAQs say extra bar facilities need to be considered above 250 evening guests. The venue does not publish a guest limit for the Orangery, so ask for it in writing.
Barn hire includes access from 9am on the wedding day, 196 lime-washed Chiavari chairs, a background sound system with microphones for speeches, a fairy-light canopy and a cash bar run by the venue's own bar staff. Catering must come from the venue's four approved caterers, and the venue supplies all drinks through four tailored drinks packages. Because the building is historic, nails, glue and staples are not allowed on the beams or walls.
The FAQs say there is no formal curfew, with celebrations running until late evening depending on your package. The sound system is capped at 100 decibels for live music and DJs. Fireworks must come from the venue's approved supplier and finish by 10pm because of the surrounding countryside and livestock.
03 / Staying on site / From the venue's own pages
Tythe House, Tythe Lodge and self-catering cottages
The venue lists on-site accommodation for up to 90 guests and says many couples also book the nights before and after. Tythe House, a manor house dating to around 1700, sleeps up to 16 in eight en-suite double bedrooms and has an orangery and a patio overlooking the grounds. Tythe Lodge has 12 en-suite rooms, 10 double or twin and two triple, across the Tythe yard from the barn, with continental breakfast from 8am to 10am. The self-catering cottages number 10 and sleep up to 48 between them, from a two-person cottage to one that sleeps nine.
Check-in is from 3pm for the Lodge and cottages and from 4pm for Tythe House. The pages do not say which rooms come with a barn booking or when you can have yours on the morning of the wedding, so ask when you enquire.
04 / Getting there / From the venue's own pages
Directions, parking and taxis
The directions page says to look for the illuminated Great Tythe Barn and Tythe House sign along the B4014, and the sat nav postcode is GL8 8XA. Parking is free in the main car park, with two 22kW electric vehicle chargers. The nearest station is Kemble, 6.2 miles away with direct trains to London Paddington and Cheltenham. The venue recommends pre-booking taxis because of the countryside location and says not to rely on Uber. It lists The Cotswold Cab and Reliance Taxis of Cirencester among its recommended suppliers, and suggests guests arrive about 30 minutes before a ceremony.

Dan and Alicia at The Great Tythe Barn: their July 2021 highlight
Dan and Alicia's highlight film retells their July 2021 wedding at The Great Tythe Barn. There are no photographs from their day on this page, so the film is the way to see it. Watch it to see and hear the venue in motion, then ask the venue which of its spaces suit your numbers.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Where the ceremony is: seven licensed options, from the Orangery at Tythe House and the oak Wedding Pavilion outdoors to four indoor barn areas. Tell us which one and the time so we can plan the morning and the first photographs around it.
- Group photographs: we do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Ask someone who knows everyone to round people up. The venue's spaces page lists a garden and a cottage garden, and its wedding page names gardens and lawns, so ask which has room for a big group.
- Portraits: we usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The venue lists gardens and lawns, so ask which are in use for your date.
- Rain: agree an indoor option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, because its pages do not name a wet-weather plan. The stone barn areas and the Orangery are the indoor ceremony spaces it lists.
- A dog at the ceremony: the venue's FAQs say dogs can be on site for the ceremony and drinks reception, and its guest guide allows them for photos by prior arrangement. They must leave afterwards and be leashed at all times, and the venue can suggest day care and chaperone services. A dog-friendly cottage can be booked, subject to terms and a deposit.
- Fireworks: they must come from the venue's approved supplier and finish by 10pm. If you plan them, tell us so we can fit the evening coverage around the time.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so a stone barn with an Orangery and an outdoor pavilion is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
