A house on its own bay
Waterwynch House is on Narberth Road just outside Tenby in Pembrokeshire (SA70 8TJ). The venue describes it as an exclusive-use, licensed house on its own secluded bay, with direct access to a private beach and 10 acres of private gardens and woodland, 12 en-suite bedrooms and a view south across Carmarthen Bay. Weddings typically have 20 to 50 guests, with 50 the maximum.
We photographed and filmed Alicia and Martin's wedding here on 20 September 2025, and their day is told in the photographs on this page, opened by the two of them on the slipway. Our Pembrokeshire guide shows Waterwynch beside other West Wales venues; here we stay with the house itself. What we say about the rooms and the grounds comes from the venue's own website, and what we say about the photographs comes from looking at them.

01 / The spaces / From the venue's own description
The Sky Room, the Great Hall and the Beach Garden
The venue's wedding page lists four ceremony settings. The Sky Room has a glass roof that lets in plenty of light, with the sea filling the windows behind the couple. The Great Hall is a more formal setting. The Beach Garden overlooks the bay and can host outdoor ceremonies when conditions allow, and the dining room and terraces flow into the celebrations that follow. The house and grounds are yours alone for the length of the stay.
In Alicia and Martin's photographs the beach does most of the work: a concrete slipway between a pebble shore and dark sea cliffs, a shallow bay and, on the day, two dogs who are very happy to be there.
02 / September 2025 / Alicia and Martin
Alicia and Martin: a slipway, a mirror and two dogs in the sea
Alicia and Martin married at Waterwynch House on 20 September 2025. The photograph at the top of this page is from their portraits: Martin in a pale blue waistcoat and Alicia in a backless gown with a long train and veil, holding each other on a slipway beside the pebbles and dark sea cliffs, both laughing and looking up.
The morning is quiet. In black and white Alicia, seen from behind, holds a large bouquet and looks at herself in a tall carved mirror beside a window, and Martin, in a pale blue suit, adjusts his tie beside an arrangement of orange, red and pale pink paper flowers.

Later they head back to the water. In black and white Alicia lifts her gown and runs through the sea towards Martin, crouching in the shallows, as a black and white dog splashes towards them. In colour the two of them kick through the waves while two dogs leap and spray water beside them, the dark cliff behind.

03 / Staying at Waterwynch / From the venue's own description
Twelve en-suite bedrooms for up to 30 guests
The venue says the house sleeps up to 30 adults in 12 en-suite bedrooms, six of them sea-facing and four with private balconies. One accommodation hire covers everyone sleeping in the house, so guests stay together. It also says weddings can run at the couple's own pace, with no fixed packages.
For photographs, a house all to yourselves means the morning, the ceremony and the evening are all in one place and the timetable can follow the tide and the light. Tell us your plan and we will plan the day around it.

A few things worth asking the venue, and how we would plan around the answers:
- Ceremony: The Sky Room, the Great Hall or the Beach Garden. Tell us your choice so we can plan the morning and the light around it.
- The beach and the tide: Check the tide and the weather for your date with the venue, so the beach portraits fit between the ceremony and the evening.
- Rain: Agree an indoor or sheltered option with the venue when you confirm the order of the day, and we settle it together on the day.
- Group photographs: We do as many as you like and typically recommend around 15, which usually take about 20 minutes. Choose somewhere with room and a sheltered backup, and ask a groomsman or bridesmaid who knows everyone to round people up.
- Portraits: We usually take a portrait walk of about 15 minutes, with photo and video together. The slipway, the bay and the woodland give you very different backdrops.
One team for the photographs and the film

Cam and Beth have photographed and filmed over 400 weddings together, so an exclusive-use house with a glass-roofed room and a private beach is familiar territory. You get one conversation about the timetable, one set of questions for the venue and one plan for the portrait walk.
The photo and video team package carries a £120 deposit and a £400 saving over booking photography and videography separately. We are based near Cardiff, and travel across England and Wales is included in standard full-day packages. When the drive is over two hours we always stay in a hotel the night before and cover it.
