Bright Sight planning guide
How can you save money on wedding photography and video?
The main savings come from your date, from booking photography and film together, and from matching the hours and films to your day. This guide shows each one and what it takes off, so you can choose with your eyes open.

The short answer
Four choices can bring the price down: your date, booking photography and film together, the number of hours and which films you choose. Every package is still edited in-house to one shared look.
A Monday to Thursday or November to February wedding takes £150 off the photo and video team and £100 off photography or videography on its own, once your total qualifies. The team price already includes a £300 saving compared with booking separately.
Choose your day and season
Weddings on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, or between November and February, qualify for our midweek or out-of-season saving. It takes £150 off the photo and video team and £100 off photography or videography alone.
The saving applies once the package total reaches the level shown in our calculators, so it suits our Luxury and Platinum packages and larger custom packages. Tick the option in the calculator on your package page to see your exact total.
If you are weighing a winter date, shorter daylight is worth planning for. Our guide to when the sun sets on your wedding day shows how to plan portraits and coverage around the light.
Book photography and film together
Booking photography and film with us as one team costs £3,699 for Standard, and the price already includes a £300 saving compared with booking them separately. It is also simpler: one agreement, one deposit, one planning call and one timeline.
Our guide to booking a photographer and videographer together explains how the two fit together on the day.

Match the hours to your day
Standard coverage is 10.5 hours. If your day is compact, a shorter booking takes £110 off for every hour under 10.5 hours for photography or videography alone, and £190 off per hour for the photo and video team, down to 9 hours.
To choose the right number, write out your timeline. Coverage usually begins about two and a half hours before the ceremony and runs continuously, so check that the finish still covers the moments you would hate to miss, such as the speeches. Our guide to how many hours of wedding photography you need shows how to work it out.
Choose the films you will watch
Our videography packages include a highlight film of 7 to 10 minutes and a documentary of typically 40+ minutes, with the full ceremony and speeches in order. If you know you would only ever watch the highlight, skipping the documentary takes £120 off.
If you would like the full ceremony and speeches in order to keep, the documentary is well worth having. Our guide to highlight and documentary films explains the difference.
Add extras only if you will use them
Extras are optional and priced separately: albums from £399, a guest messages film at £149, a second photographer at £499 or a second videographer at £599. Our Platinum photography package includes a second photographer and our Platinum videography package includes a second videographer.
Decide on the photographs and films first, then add an extra only if you can already picture using it.

If you are still deciding
Use the calculator on each package page to tick the midweek or out-of-season option and try different hours and films, and watch the total change. If you would like to know why the base prices are what they are, our guide to why wedding photographers and videographers cost what they do explains where the hours go, and our cost guide lists every package.
When you are ready, send an enquiry with your date and venue and we will reply within a few hours. An enquiry does not reserve your date; the £120 deposit does, once you are happy to go ahead.
Questions couples ask
Can you get wedding photography and video for less without losing quality?
Yes. Your date, the number of hours and the films you choose all change the price. Everything is still edited in-house to one shared look.
Is a midweek wedding cheaper?
It can be. A Monday to Thursday wedding takes £150 off the photo and video team and £100 off photography or videography alone, once your total reaches the level shown in our calculators, which suits Luxury and Platinum packages.
Does a winter wedding cost less?
A wedding between November and February qualifies for the same saving as a midweek wedding, once your total qualifies. Daylight is shorter in winter, so we keep outdoor photographs close to the indoors, straight from the ceremony.
How much cheaper is it to book photography and video together?
The team price already includes a £300 saving compared with booking photography and film separately, with one agreement, one deposit and one planning call.
Can we book fewer hours?
Yes. A shorter booking takes £110 off per hour under 10.5 hours for photography or videography alone and £190 off per hour for the team, down to 9 hours. Check that the finish time still covers your speeches.
Can we skip the documentary film?
Yes. Skipping the documentary film takes £120 off a videography or team package, and you keep the 7 to 10 minute highlight film.
How much do your wedding packages cost?
Our standard full-day packages start at £1,999 for photography, £1,999 for videography and £3,699 for photography and videography together, with travel across England and Wales included and a £120 deposit to secure your date.
