Bright Sight planning guide

How long until you get your wedding photos and film?

Sneak peeks typically come around 24 hours after the wedding, then each piece of content arrives roughly a month after the last. This guide explains the stages and what to do while you wait.

The short answer

Each piece of content arrives roughly a month after the last, with the photographs first, then the highlight film, then the documentary film. Delivery is staged so you can enjoy each part as it is ready, and it works the same way whichever package you choose.

In peak summer the timings can vary, and we confirm expectations for your booking. If a date matters to you, such as a first anniversary or a family event, mention it when you enquire.

Sneak peeks around 24 hours after the wedding

You do not have to wait a month to see anything. Our photography and photo and video packages include sneak peeks typically around 24 hours after the wedding: 15 in Standard, 30 in Luxury and 50 in Platinum.

They are a few favourite photographs to share with family and to remember the day while the full gallery is edited.

Photographs, then films

The photographs come first, as a private online gallery with digital downloads (Luxury and above also include a USB). Standard includes a full edited gallery of 600 to 800+ photographs.

The highlight film follows, roughly a month later. It is a short, cinematic story of the day, usually 7 to 10 minutes. The documentary film arrives last, roughly a month after that: a longer edit, typically 40+ minutes, that follows the day in order.

Why films take longer than photographs

A film starts as many hours of footage and sound. Each edit, the highlight and the documentary, is a separate piece of storytelling, and each needs time for selecting, cutting, colour and sound.

That is why we do not quote a single delivery date for everything. Staging it also means the part you will probably share first, the highlight, reaches you well before the full documentary.

What to do while you wait

Keep our email address handy and check your spam folder, because delivery messages sometimes land there. Share your sneak peeks, and tell us beforehand if you would rather your wedding stayed private, which is absolutely fine.

When your gallery or films arrive, follow the download instructions and keep your own copies somewhere safe, for example on a hard drive as well as online. We make two separate backups of your photographs and footage after the wedding, but your own copies are the safest of all. Our guide to what happens after you book covers the stages before the wedding too.
